1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: help! picking a logo... need opinions! on: February 22, 2011 01:56:11 AM
Thank you all for the input! Smiley

If you don't mind me asking, how did you go about creating a logo like that - they're all very eye-catching.

Ehhrm... nothing special I think... I had the idea, so I sort of had it in my mind, and sat down in front of FreeHand and played around with it until it kind of looked like the image in my head... and then I played some more! LOL!!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: Here's a Double Heart Cuff Bracelet...WOOT! on: February 10, 2011 10:35:52 AM
This is utterly fabulous! Really, I have no words to say how much I love this idea! Possibly the best use of forks to make jewelry I've ever seen!
3  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Starry Night Cake on: February 04, 2011 09:11:28 AM
Wow that is utterly beautiful! I don't know if I would be able to cut through it!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Earcuff TUTORIAL!!! (on BIG demand) on: January 14, 2011 11:20:21 AM
Thank you SO MUCH for this tute... I just had to try it as soon as I saw it!! I didn't go as elaborate as your beautiful creations, but I made an attempt:

I's a bit wonky and IRL if you look very very up close to it, you can see some marks from my pliers... but still, I'm loving it!
Thank you again so much for giving us this tute... I will definitely make more!
5  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / my Xmas earrings to get me in the festive mood... on: December 09, 2010 10:45:15 AM
These are very simple compared to the gorgeous stuff that keeps being posted, but I'm having fun wearing them... and that is good enough for me! Wink

these are the worst ones... little snowmen I wore the other day, while putting up the Xmas decorations all over the house

gingerbread men I wore  yesterday while I was baking my holiday cookies... I love these ones!

little gifts I'm wearing right now

these are fighting with the gingerbread ones to be my favourites: glittery Xmas trees... lurve them!!

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Random leather cuff on: December 09, 2010 10:38:35 AM
I found a scrap of leather in the attic, and I knew I wanted to make something out of it... but for a start, I cut out just a little rectangular piece and made myself this simple cuff... I love wearing cuffs and this is wonderfully soft on the inside

(the black is shoe polish that stained the lines I cut into the leather to mark the design better after cutting it. Originally there were no lines as I cut it from behind, but it seemed kind of undefined, so I cut some surface lines to mark the design on the front)

for the closure, I simply added a snap button with a mother-of-pearl effect on the outside

sorry for the bad color!

It is far from perfect, but I like it for a first experiment and without decent cutting tools....
7  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Paper cutting tutorial on: December 08, 2010 05:06:49 AM
Thank you! This is really cute, and even better for me, it gave me the perfect idea for a bunch of Christmas cards that I plan on making!
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / A series of fabric bib necklacese... from very simple to beaded and shiny! on: November 15, 2010 02:36:50 PM
Last year I made my first yo-yo necklace (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=323804.0) from a bunch of random beads and scraps of fabric, and I loved it!
It was also pretty well received among my friends too... so I made lots of others! They will make good gifts, I guess!
Here's some pics:

similar to mine, but without any frayed end... that would be a little too much for my friends, LOL!

same palette of colours, a slightly more regular shape

colorful cotton: the printed fabric was actually a dress my mom made for herself in her 20's!

I found this great fabric in my attic... a denim-hued cotton with a silver lurex thread in the fabric... is shiny but still quite modest... love it!

a smaller one

back to my beloved mauves and lilacs. With cute satiny glass beads

two tones of mauve satiny fabric, with amber colored faceted beads

same fabric as above mixed with some shiny organza which used to be a skirt I wore for a skating number, with lots of tiny rosy pearly beads

more of my former ice-skating skirt, with large and small white pearls... a bit more over the top compared to the others, but I love it!

I hope you like them!
9  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Super simple but YUMMY banana plumcake that I can't stop re-baking on: October 19, 2010 12:58:31 AM
Smiley I should have a recipe for a cake actually using plums, it was something my German grandmother used to make... I have to dig it up or recreate it. Anyway, totally by coincidence, I'm putting up today on my blog a recipe for some plum dumplings my Hungarian grandma used to make instead, which were also totally yummy.... here's the link: http://lacucinadelgattobianco.blogspot.com/2010/10/szilvas-gomboc-gnocchi-ripieni-di.html in case you might want to have a look (with the help of the google translate button)... I was thinking of posting them here with a proper translation too....
10  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: help! picking a logo... need opinions! on: October 05, 2010 11:41:47 AM
Thank you for the input!
in the meantime, I showed it to some other people, and basically, though I still love A, I came to dismiss it when someone had trouble recognizing the cat shape at first glance - some kind of fill inside the shape helps for that, so I got down to C or E.

I was thinking that for the smaller things - business cards, or small tags for earrings or such things - it would get very very scaled down... probably the gradient would get lost/messy... or at least I'm afraid of this... so I was almost falling on C, to have one simple color all over... but keep the ideas coming, I've definitely not mad eup my mind yet!
