Awww….you guys are so kind! As I mentioned I’ve learned so much off of this forum; edging, piping etc. etc.. I’m dying to try the honeycomb smocking that someone just posted.
I’m an artist and my latest body of work seeks to meld the object and viewer into one entity, blurring the lines between art, spectator, performer and artist. I’m interested in using the everyday in ways to make us question the everyday-(maybe not the best way to put it!).
My pieces are inspired by old films; the bathing caps of Esther Williams, football helmets worn by Harpo and Chico Marx and the staterooms inhabited by Ginger Rogers. I also draw from sources of traditional corrective prosthetics, like ear horns and eyewear.
Sorry for the novel, I’m still pretty fresh out of grad. school and the wordiness hasn’t worn off yet!
