11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Help on: March 29, 2008 10:05:43 PM
I was just wondering how hard it would be for someone who has never crocheted to crochet one of those slouchy hats.  and if it isn't that hard if someone could tell me where i can get some really good instructions.  I know how to knit but i always wanted to learn how to crochet.  If you can help me I would really appreciate it Smiley

So I did this tee for a speech I did on stenciling and got the inspiration from Man Ray's photo  Le Violon d'Ingres, which is one of my favorites by him.  So I hope you all like it.

15  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Photo Reproduction Painting on: March 16, 2008 06:54:48 PM
For my first painting homework assignment we had to find a black and white photograph and reproduce it using a grid on an 18" x 24" canvas.  Here is what I did for my assignment and below is the original photograph that I found on shorpy.com.  Below the photo on the website it says "New York City detective Mary Agnes Shanley pulls a pistol out of her handbag. Shanley shows what awaits a pickpocket. She had more than a thousand career arrests. From the New York World-Telegram and the Sun Newspaper Photograph Collection, 1937."  I found this really interesting because I didn't even notice at first that she had a gun in her hand.  Well I hope you all like it Smiley

(I had to crop the picture to fit the dimensions)
