I just got an idea for some buttons I want to make for some friends, and don't want to invest in a button-maker for one project. This is such a great alternative! Where did you find the little pieces of wood? Or did you cut them yourself?

i got pretty much everything at Michael's (wood pieces, modpodge, pin backs)  the only things i didn't get there was my paint and magazine pics.  pictures from the computer kind of work but don't usually look as good.  hope that helps Smiley

Why spend $300 on a button maker when it's just gonna break in a month or two? If you use them enough, they WILL break. I think they're awesome. Is that Siouxsie Sioux I see mixed in there?
yes surrey that is siouxsie Smiley

They look much more interesting than plastic buttons! How strong is the back and did you use super-duper strong glue to hold them on?

I find I often lose things that aren't pinned on too well or that the back is glued on too weakly.  Cry

i just used a hot glue gun so we will see how they stay on.  i also used those pin backings that you have to turn the little thingy to get the pin to come out so they are pretty secure.  thanks for all the other comments by the way.  i can't wait to make more Smiley

I wear pins on a pretty regular basis and i wish i had the money to buy a button maker. so i went the cheap route instead and i am really happy with the end product.  so what i did was i mod poged magazine clippings to tiny wooden cut out and then glued a pin back to them.  i can't wait to start wearing them! (thanks to my little bro by the way for taking awesome pics)

White stripes rock!!! This is so cool, i would so wear this, i hate the way band tees are usually boeing and dark, this is bright and funkeyy!

yeah i agree.  i would much rather have a funky band tee than a dark and mass produced one.  Rock On! Cool
