1  Re: Looking for the perfect pattern for that perfect person :) in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by AcrophobicPixie on: January 14, 2013 10:46:16 AM
Also, if you crochet him a pair of gloves, it's an ingame item you can find. (look in the Crochet in Tv/Fiction thread. I found it and posted a picture years ago in it).

Crochet has now gotten into the gaming realm.

Yup. I looted crochet gloves in World of Warcraft. And my first thought was "OMG, must screenshot and see if anyone posted it before me in this thread!"

4  Re: Witch/Wicca/Pagan Swap Round 7 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by AcrophobicPixie on: August 20, 2008 04:36:05 PM
I have pictures, just no cord to hook the camera up to the pc. They'll be up in a jiffy.

[EDIT] Family member borrowed the cord and forgot to tell me, resulting in panic and OMG'dness. Here be the pics!

Group shot:

Smudge stick, some dragon's blood incense, an incense burner with a cool dragon decal on it.

Green and blue robey with highly scandelous slits up the side *grins* and a mystery pouchie!

It's a fae tarot and cute instructional bookie!

Close up on the Fool (So cute!)

Close up on some of the bookie

I got it as I was heading to bed last night and promptly put my shoes back on to run downstairs to my mom's place to show it all off. Tongue She's a total tarot hound, so I had to fight to get my pouchie back Cheesy

5  Re: Anyone Hear of this yarn? Etc.. in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by AcrophobicPixie on: March 14, 2007 10:26:29 PM
One of the girls at the LYS did the lighter test for me. It's acrylic, they think. First picture: One hank *just one* stretched out around me.

Second: How many balls I got out of the lavender. A standard size ball of Cascade 220 is next to it.

Third: How thin it is. One lady said to tat with it, and others said to work with at least 2-3 strands at a time.

But it's sooooo pretty!!!

Yay, I am so glad you liked it. The crocheted wrist warmers were kind of odd to make. (I tweaked a pattern cause they were getting huge!)
This is a closer picture of them and a bit more truer to color.

The rest of what I sent was just to relax. That, and I figured it'd be easy to hold chunky lipstick pens.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the package Sparklypants sent.
Here's the box cover:

And here's everything kind of jumbled:

There's a little purple memo pad that says Purple on it, about 4 votive candles, and a ton of wax and tins and stuff to make candles. Now, I need to see if anyone has donated a double boiler to goodwill lately so I can get to whipping up some spiffy candles!! Did I mention that one of my managers wanted to steal the kit?

7  Re: Scrap yarn blanket in Crochetalongs by AcrophobicPixie on: January 31, 2007 11:33:24 PM
I decided to actually make my roommates happy, and get rid of some of my yarn that is slowly leaving the diningroom area to take over the entire living room... *innocent look* So I'm doing the giant granny pattern that Jennickell posted up here...

Up close

What I've got so far (from tonight's Yarn Yoga session and a bit of tv watching)

I'm using the Accord acrylic yarn... I picked up random balls of it a while back for god knows what reason. The colors are Pink rose, Natural, and Denim. They are very nummy next to each other. I can't believe how fast it's growing. I'm using an L hook, and if I hold it up, it goes from my waist to the floor length wise.

9  soft gray lacey hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by AcrophobicPixie on: January 14, 2007 06:45:28 AM
This is my new hat, being modeled by my jar of salsa con queso..

It is my first time designing something/going utterly without a pattern, and it was so much fun!
I made it lacey so I could peek my pigtails through:

And here is a close-up of the pattern:

And now my older sister is demanding one, with a brim, so I need to figure out how I did this... and figure out the brim thing. *tosses spool of wire into yarn bag*

10  Re: Favor help, please in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by AcrophobicPixie on: January 10, 2007 12:26:27 AM
Might help of you told us a bit more about wtheck a favor actually is?? I get the idea it is something along the lines of the handkerchiefs women used to tuck into the sleeves and whatnot of their favored knights before a fight or tourney or whatever? Of course, I could be completely off base here!

Anyway, point being, what size is it, how does it usually hang, what IS it?? lol

It's about 6 inches by 6 inches square, and your def of a favor is pretty dead on. His wife can't sew (I've tried to teach her) and as a close female friend, he asked me to make a favor for good luck.
You can see in the picture below the big gaping blank spot. The upper corner is staying blank, to tuck into his belt, and under the rose in the bottom corner will be my initials in more vines and thorns when I'm done.
