Oh my goodness sixblueirises!  I'm the last to receive that towel... and already the bar is set high!  Great job!!!

OK -- Here's mamaphunk's towel!

Here's a view of both her words & my addition.

Mamaphunk just redid her kitchen to look like it's from an anthropologie catalog with lots of bright colors... so that's the theme for this towel!

I was going to do a nice tulip design I found on Hoop Love, but it was a pain to transfer via the window method.  Luckily, I found this design by Andrea Zuill (might as well rename this tour for her with all of her designs appearing everythwere!)  I didn't do the whole piece, it extends another two/three inches to the top with more blossoms.

I've written more on my blog about my experience so far in TTT5, I don't want to take up anymore space here in the gallery!

My tale of woe involves spending most of the last 24 hours either puking or, well... you know. Bloody food poisoning.

I did get a start on Susie's towel though before the illness hit, so that's a bright point.

Feel better!  We came down with the H1N1 flu in our house and it was AWFUL.  I didn't get it, but I took care of everyone.  Fortunately, I can report that the H1N1 swine flu is much shorter lasting than regular flu.

Oh shheeesh!  Did you all get tested by the health dept to confirm it?  I'm hoping my insurance will cover the H1N1 shot for free since it's teachers' insurance, they always do free flu shots.  One of the middle schools just to the south of us had 14 cases in the first week of classes.
My tale of woe has been the chicken pox!  Don't worry, I didn't touch a single towel until I was over it.  I was vaccinated & everything, yet I still got a mild case of it at 21 yrs old.

Anyways, on topic -- I've finished mamaphunk's towel & hopefully I'll get pictures done before class tomorrow & in the post after class!

I've never used it but I've heard that it works wonders with metallic floss.

Then I'm sold. I dislike that stuff.

PaleAngelLex - I use for 4 years and use it on all my floss.  I love it.  It just makes the thread move smoothly through the fabric and it even makes the cheap cheap floss I bought when I first started embroidering work better. I would not avoid it at all.

Awesome!

Hehe, after reading all of this I bought a box at Joann's!  I can't wait to try it out Cheesy

Also... would anyone be interested in a spreadsheet checklist inventory for their DMC floss?  I made one for myself in Numbers -- it came in very handy today.  If anyone else shows any interest I'll also convert it to Excel & post it for download on my site.

Does anyone know on average how long something takes to get to Canada from the US?

When I've sold stuff on Etsy to people in Canada, it seems to take just about the same amount of time as if I were shipping the stuff across the country.

I Sew Cute --

I might try doing that instead, since I just managed to find my desk lamp after moving 8 months ago!

Speaking of lighting -- I'm really kicking myself for not getting those $20 ottlights that JoAnn had on clearance/sale a month ago!!  I desperately need a small desk light like those to have on the end table while I embroider.  I've been tilting the lampshade, but that just blinds everyone else.  Hmm... I wonder if they still have them & if I'll be able to use a 40% off coupon...

Hooray!  Still online & still $20!!!  Now I just need to decide on a color...

Oh wow Gatsbygirl -- LOVE IT!!!  I can't wait to see all the different critters that end up on it Cheesy

Thanks for the sweet comments about my deer & bunny -- I didn't like the eyes on the original drawing, but then I ran out of time to come up with eyes I liked better, but I think those eyes are growing on me!

I can't wait until Mamaphunk's towel gets here!!  Hopefully tomorrow -- tracking said it got here on Thursday, but uh... it didn't.  From what I hear, when some mail men get lazy they leave packages in the truck -- so I hope that's the case.

I had to make my honey send my towel for me, I lost track of time translating my homework!  Luckily, both got done.
