1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: THE GENERIC BOYFRIEND GIFT THREAD: A How-To! on: May 30, 2007 08:44:38 AM
This is such a great thread!!  Ive been thinking of different things to make my boyfriend for his birthday in june and our 1 year in july...im pretty set on silkscreening him a tshirt with hank williams and sewing him pj pants or shorts with elvis fabric!! and im making him a bloddy chainsaw cake b.c he loves the texas chainsaw massacre...all for his birthday.
for our anniversary since we live kind of far apart, an hour..we only see each other on the weekends, im going to make each of us little zombie dolls of each other, hed get me and id get him, ya know?  and im thinking of embroidering him some pillowcases, although i have no idea how to emboider!! Heh!  Ill have to figure that out first!those are my thoughts right now anyways...

I wanted to tell everyone the stuff ive made in the past for boyfriends to help anyone out whose stuck for an idea....
besides the fact that Ive painted all my ex's stuff, ive made other things..
once I got one of those little wooden boxes from michaels, painted it all nice and i got a bag wooden hearts, i dont remember how many but there were an assload!! I painted the box all purdy and the hearts read and on each heart I wrote "I Love You" in a different language  and on the inside of the lid of the box I wrote "theres only one way I know how to say it, I love you"...get it...nerdy

another time I dated this guy who whenever i drove to see him id see shooting stars so i filled a glass jar full of little wooden stars that i spray painted them silver and one of them i made sure was on the edge so you can see it  i wrote..."your my wish come true"...or something, i dont remember exactly, heh!

i also bought a fish bowl and a real fish and filled the bottom with those glass marbles (fish tank gravel is a bitch to clean) and a plant and then i found paper thats used for scrap books that looked kind of like water and with blue letter stickers i wrote "youre the only fish in my sea" and glued it to the back of the bowl so you could see it when looking at the fish

And for my current boyfriend for christmas i gave him an engraved ring and painted a wooden box to put it in red with black designs and on the lid was this heart/infinity knot thing

i hope those help someone!
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Re: DIY "Nose Bidet"/Neti Pot!!! on: May 25, 2007 09:29:57 AM
Oh my gosh! I love neti pots!!
My therapist bought one for me last spring b.c she felt bad seeing me suffer (i have wicked allergies) and I was kinda hesitant to use it.
Well this year since pollen has been very high and I moved to the 32nd worse place in the country to live with allergies, Allentown, PA I have had the worst allergies EVER! My eyes never get bloodshot and the last two weeks i looked like I was perpetually stoned! Heh!  Well I remembered my neti pot and started using it...it is the greatest thing in the whole world!!!  It does feel kind of funny at first but ya get used to it!
I absolutely love my neti pot!  Im glad to see you were so ingenius to make your own!
