1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: how do you know which hair color works for your skin tone? on: October 29, 2005 01:28:11 AM
Ehh, it would most probably look good, but it would take some getting used to (obviously, as you wouldn't be accustomed to waking up and seeing your face framed by light hair instead of dark!)
I don't think using a semi-permanent dye of that colour on your hair would show up, because your hair is naturally so dark (I have naturally black hair). If you did get it done, they'd be doing some severe lightening and crap to your hair to get it to that shade - and remember, you'd have roots after a while, so you'd either have to keep getting re-coloured over your roots, or let it grow out at some point.

I'm sure it would look pretty cute if you did decide to do it, but if you do, please get it done professionally - apparently they put all kinds of shit in the off the shelf hair colourants so that they have a really long shelf life, whereas professional dyes have a sell-by date, because the components are no longer good after a certain amount of time.

Good luck!

Apologies to my swap partner - I sent a little late this month, because of some ridiculous goings-on in my life that really hacked me off, the internet was the last thing on my mind!
Also as I live overseas it may take a little time to arrive. I am really so, so sorry about that.

On a happier note, I'm charging up my digicam then I'll post pics of both the cards I have received so far - my latest one was absolutely hilarious, it brightened up my day a treat. (I only posted text for my september card, as my camera was going crazy, but it's fixed now! Just another couple of hours til it's done charging...)
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: spookily cute/halloween soap moulds that are actually avaliable to the uk? on: October 20, 2005 10:22:48 AM
I don't know of any places at the moment (I had a google for you but couldn't find anything).. The one thing I would suggest would possibly be buying cake or cookie/biscuit/pastry/jelly moulds and using them instead of soap moulds, but I'm not sure if that'd work - I'm not a soap-maker myself!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Come one come all post your new tattoo IDEAS! on: October 20, 2005 10:21:04 AM
PinkMafia:
I don't have any tattoos personally, but a guy came into the shop where I work yesterday with a little pair of stars behind his ears, and they looked gorgeous.
What would you want to get?
A friend of mine is debating between stars, hearts or some kind of card suit.

Oh, wow! I'm so pleased to have come back to this thread to see that so many people have replied, it's brilliant Cheesy
I'm currently in a 6 month swap myself (Post Secret Swap Round II) so I wouldn't be able to organise. I love all the ideas that you guys are coming up with - keep on brainstorming and hopefully we'll have a great UK swap soon!
(I personally can't wait! Wink)

Here's who has recieved but has not yet posted:

kategirl
minwe
chibiichan
izzy
Lady E
pumperthedinosaur

Come one people, let's see 'em!

Ah! I think there's a bit of confusion there on my part - I did post mine, quite a while back. (check my post on page 7 - it mentions it):

"Received mine yesterday - I'll post a photo when I can find my digital camera.
It reads: 'They think I like being on my own - but all I want is to be one of them.'

I pretty much cried when I read it. I know that feeling, and it's a very personal one. I'm so .. well, honoured that somebody could share something like that with me. This may be my first swap on Craftster, but Christ, if I do any more and they are this good, it could turn out like some kind of addiction!

My secret has been in the post for a little while, though apologies to my partner as it may take a while to arrive (shipping overseas = anal). Sorry if that gives anything away about which secret is mine.."

Sorry if there was any confusion, LivinEasy. I replied to your PM, too.
And for anybody who's been assigned as my partner - god, please do send! I'm no flaker! There's just been some misunderstanding, as far as I can see.
Apologies for any problems I may have caused, or if my actions have been misconstrewed in some way.
9  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: My old chucks!!! <3 on: September 26, 2005 11:56:16 AM
they're absolutely gorgeous! thankfully my feet haven't grown at all since I bought my favourite pair of Chucks (a couple of years ago) but they're pretty much dead now .. I still wear them though. Tongue

I love the fact that you have the same shoelaces as I have in mine, haha! $1.99 at Payless right? I was in NY at the time, bought some HK ones while I was at it (I'm actually from the UK, haha.)

anyway, what a great idea! I'll probably patch up my Chucks now that I've seen yours. I've got some furry blue leopard print fabric lying around...
