Love your "Chickens of Oviedo" description! I drove there almost daily for the couple of years that my Dad was in an assisted living center there. On MOST of my trips... I saw the chickens... just strutting along the side of the road.. right near the center of the older part of town! Always made me smile. I like your recipe book cover! Very clever!
This is very cool! Years ago.... and it was MANY years ago I made my girls animals for their floors. One was a bear rug.. and the other a lion. I believe that it was a from an old Simplicity pattern. I ended up putting more stuffing in them so that they actually would sit in a chair. Used them in the school where I taught after the girls outgrew them. Yours is very realistic with the head form! The pink makes it whimsical though. Love it!
Another thing that I have done with the little fish tanks is to make key holders that are kind of a tossback to the swinger parties of yesteryears that I hope my parents and grandparents never went to. I collected a ton of old keys from family/friends/thriftshops, then toss them into a small fishbowl and fill it halfway with clear epoxy resin. Let it dry and when you get home you can toss your keys/change/whatever into it,
What a GREAT idea! I have some old keys... have been wondering what to do with them. Thanks!
This book purse is VERY cool! As a musician and a school library media specialist...I really NEED one! Looks like I know what I'll be doing the rest of my vacation! Thanks again for all of your book purse posts.... they are very inspiring! Also... thanks for the answer back about the handles. I found the tutorial and it helps a lot. K.
