11  Re: Lingerie shower in Weddings and Bridal Showers by aimee_ant123 on: October 07, 2008 07:33:41 PM
ooo i just threw my friend a lingerie party last month!  we had alot of fun! i got alot of my ideas from just googling bachelorette party but ill share what we did:

depending on your guests im not sure how risky you want to get with your games, but it was pretty much anything goes at ours.

we played "pin the penis on the man" a spin off of the old "pin the tail on the donkey"

we also played a game that just involved the bride-to-be called "bachelorette to housewife"  before the shower we asked the groom questions about himself and recorded his answers.  then during the shower we dressed the bride-to-be up in pretty things: sexy bra, sexy panties, high heels, rings, crown, fairy wand...  then we asked her the questions about the groom.  every time her answer didnt match his exactly, we took one of her pretty things and gave her something ugly and granny looking: shower cap, granny bra, granny panties, slippers, spatula, and the last question she got wrong, we gave her these ugly hillbilly teeth we got at the party store.  it made for alot of laughter and some very funny pics:
the pretty bachelorette:

and the granny housewife:

also some other ideas: we played pictionary with a dry erase board and words that had to do with weddings, honeymoon, lingerie, and sex

and my favorite thing: i turned the bathroom into a mini spa... i lit tea light candles and played soothing nature sounds and gave facials. everyone got a green face mask and cucumbers to put over their eyes... it was fun!

I would never have thought those colors would work together...they are BEAUTIFUL together!!

I LOVE thebouquests ... what is in the vases for the centerpieces??  the green things??

yeah i know... the whole time we were planning her mom was wrinkling her nose up at the colors she chose... but it ended up turning out really pretty i think.  we paired up the purple with green, and the pink with orange, and did alot of playing with the opposites.  she even had the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle together, and the girl in the pink dress walked with the guy in the orange shirt... the purple dress with the green shirt... and so on... i looked really neat...

and the little balls in the vases were these little foam balls... they sell them at Hobby Lobby.  Actually i just remembered i have a pic of them that i took with my cell phone in the store when we were trying to decide on center pieces:

13  My friends' very colorful summer wedding**image obese** in Weddings and Bridal Showers by aimee_ant123 on: October 06, 2008 08:18:07 PM
My entire summer was spent helping my friend Cara plan her wedding.  Im posting this to show how beautiful everything turned out.  Some things were made by me, some things were made by her, and some things were store bought.  I'll let you know which is which as the pictures progress...

Lets start out with the cake, it was made by a friend of her mom's and designed by Cara with cake photos from the internet as her inspiration:

the whole cake table (cara painted the "I DO" letters:

Here is the Bride with all her bridesmaids (I am the one in the orange in on the far right)  her colors were mulberry, persimmon, dark purple, and light green.  each girl had a bouquet opposite the color of her dress the dresses were storebought:

close up of the bride's bouquet,  the bridesmaids bouquets were made the same just in solid colors.  each girl's bouquet had an initial charm on it: (i made the bouquets by the way, cara helped)

Here is the groom with all his groomsmen (my boyfriend is the one in the pink on the far right Smiley)  each guy's tie was opposite his shirt:

and what we loved but her parents hated Cheesy the groomsmen wore flipflops!!

I made the flower girl basket and ring pillow (this pic was taken after the flower girl had carried the basket around all day and the handle started to ravel):

some centerpieces at the reception:

the bridal party table, cara painted the K initial, and i dont have a close up of the place card holders but theyre winecorks and we altered paint samples in the wedding colors as the place cards:

the whole bridal party after marching out, you can really see how pretty the colors are in this pic:

my boyfriend caught the garter!! ha ha here we are:

16  Burgers, Fries, Hot Dogs, and Ice Cream Cones!! (image fat) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by aimee_ant123 on: February 28, 2008 08:04:29 PM
So this is my first time playing with polymer clay, and this is what i came up with.  Can you tell i was hungary?

i used sculpey... i havent bought any glaze to make them shiney yet, but i actually like the dull look too so i might just leave them that way.  i made two of each charm because i wanted to make earrings, and as you can see I've already made some of them into earrings...

Thanks for looking Cool

17  O.M.G....it's HANNAH MONTANA!!! zipper pouch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by aimee_ant123 on: November 30, 2007 08:55:23 PM
I have a 13-year-old niece who has a mild obsession with Hannah Montanna.  I found this fabric in the craft aisle at Walmart... and gasped at the $8 a yard price tag.  So i only bought 1/4 of a yard to make her this little pouch.

I used a 7 inch zipper to give you an idea of it's size:

Laying flat:

It was so crazy i was going through my giant stash of charms, and i found 3 butterfly charms in the exact colors to match the fabric so i hung them from the zipper:

Silky blue lining (Ive cheated with the lining and used the surger Wink )

This is part of her Christmas present... Hope she doesn't see this, she's been known to lurk around craftster from time to time...

...anywho thanks for looking

19  Re: 500 random Christmas cards! in What the heck can I do with THIS? by aimee_ant123 on: October 25, 2007 02:54:42 PM
i know this post is old but i just had to share this idea with you guys.

***PLACE MATS***

I didnt make these, but i found them at a yard sale, and bought them as a reminder to make some myself.  but it looks like they just used something round to trace the same sized circles on greeting cards.  then placed them face down on clear contact paper, and covered the back with printed contact paper.  it looks really easy...

20  Re: The COSTUME that ties you up in knots!! (twister costume) in Halloween Costumes by aimee_ant123 on: October 16, 2007 07:54:11 PM
Gestalta_Sara, here are some more pics of the purse:

i used adhesive velcro for the closure,  but you may want to come up with some better straps.  we did learn that they break if you put too much weight in the purse.  but since its just a costume we didnt try and make it useable.

i basically cut the board in half horizontally and used the top half for the front and the bottom half for the back of the purse.  sorry i didnt manage to get detailed pics of the back and inside before she took it home with her, but its all white duct tape.
