1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A blue septopus. on: November 29, 2006 07:24:29 PM
I tried to make an octopus out of felt, but just didn't quite have enough room to add the 8th leg. Now, with only 7 legs, it's just a Septopus.
I think I'll make a few more to be his friend- A unipus, triplopus, hexapus...  Grin  Maybe a plain ol' octopus, if I get around to it.

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: mix tape on: November 28, 2006 01:04:06 AM
Haha, that's a very cute idea.
I think it'd be really awesome to make a whole set. Have a couple mix tape pillows, a huge body-pillow sized cd player/boombox, and maybe a decorative circular throw pillow to look like a cd. Would make such an interesting bed!
3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A little pink felt bunny.. on: November 27, 2006 02:38:43 PM
I got inspired by everyone's felt critters, and trekked 1 hours nad 20 minutes through the snow, in the dark, to get to walmart and buy some felt myself.
So I made a bunny first, to try and get the hang of it. It's definately not fantastic, but it's my start. I'll hopefully have a whack of critters in time for christmas.
Anyone know of any links to tutorials and patterns for some critters I can practice, give a shout.  Grin

Grin Yay you saw mine and it inspired you to post yours.
I love you blue kitty. Now I want to make more kitties, because of your kitty.
Very cute, I love it. I'm off to go paint more now.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 18th bday part... theme: Girly! on: November 20, 2006 03:11:13 AM
Okay. I haven't had a birthday in many years... but this year, I want to have one of the good ol' cutesy girly birthday parties.

It'll be girls only, and I need some help on making it memorable for all of my friends. Something really fun.
I never got to have a party like that, because my birthday is just over a week away from christmas, so my bday and xmas were always mashed together into one!
But not this time. Cool

I'm not a girly girl, so this is something totally new for me.
Decorations, theme ideas, drink ideas, game ideas, costume ideas, ANY IDEAS. I'm thinking it'll be pink, flowery, feminine, cute, but still with the edge of an 18th party.
I want shooter-sized drinks, but have no recipes, and fun interesting party food, but no recipes again. Decorations galore, and other crafty things.

Help mee pleaase  Huh
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Painting kitties on beach rocks! (Photos) on: November 20, 2006 02:27:05 AM
Ok. I just signed up to this site today, because I'm a craft-freak, and was here to look for inspiration. But it just so happens that earlier today, I started making a Christmas gift for someone.

I took a trip to the beach and picked up some smooth, flat bottomed rocks, base coated them with a dark brown acrylic paint, and used a thin-tipped paint brush to paint a tabbycat, with some tabby kittens.

It's for my boyfriend's mother, who has two beautiful tabby cats herself, and I thought that a home-made gift was better than a store-bought one.

I still am going to find a mini wicker basket, paint it burgundy, (the color of her living room decor), and make a little fluffy bed to put the kitties in, but these are the finished kitty-rocks to start.

(Ps. They aren't well proportioned, and aren't very realistic, but it's my first attempt at painting something that wasn't paper. And it's the little flaws that make hand-made things even better, I think. Oh, and, with the flash on, it made it hard to get the true-to-life colors.)

This is just the start of many rock painted kitties, or other thingies.

You should make lots of random-shaped pillows. Smiley

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: 2 Tops I Made on: November 20, 2006 02:16:11 AM
Beautiful! I love the geometric aspect of it, and the colors in the patchwork make it really original. Very cool.
