62  UNITED STATES / Maine / Re: So how many people here are from Maine? on: August 04, 2007 05:49:47 PM
Just thought I'd add to this since I'm from Maine, too!
I was born in Presque Isle and lived in Limestone for 25 years, up until a couple months ago.
I now live in Portland.  It's been an adjustment, but I love it here, and can't imagine why I didn't make the move many years earlier!

I love this.  I really like the shape of the letters and the colors you used.
Your cat is adorable, as well!

One of my favorites is called "My Water Broke!"

You freeze little plastic babies into ice cubes.  You can get the little babies with all the cake decorating stuff at most craft stores.  You have to freeze them into the ice cubes in layers of water, kind of, so that they're in the middle of the ice cube.

Each guest gets a baby ice cube and they have to melt the baby out as fast as they can...(without using things like teeth).  The first one to get their baby out will likely have a small puddle of water at their feet from the melted cube and has to yell "My Water Broke!"

ETA: I just read ollieorange's thread below with the same idea... so i guess I didn't offer anything new Smiley

I made a few of these and they do come out really pretty, but I had the hardest time tying five 24g wires together...maybe i'm just weak.

couldn't you use just a regular white muffin tin paper..the liner things?  Seems like it would stick well enough to the frosting, too.

Those came out really well!
Love the fabrics you chose.

Thank you for the tips.  Love the one you made with the gingerbread men ornaments in it and the ornaments themselves(especially the one with the bite out of his head! Tongue).
I'm thinking i might try to make these sometime this week and instead of cardboard I'll try plastic canvas, which would allow for them to be washed, but still give them some stability.

I love all of the projects you made, and the fabric you chose is great!
For the fabric bowl/box, is it just two layers of fabric with a layer of the quilt batting stuff in between?  That looks really simple to make and would sew up easy for some quick gifts.
