1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Coffe Urn Lamp on: November 10, 2007 07:36:02 AM
When I first saw this lamp I knew I wanted to create my own.

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=26.0

So my grandma had a awesome green coffee urn that I got for free.  Then finally, this summer I created it into a lamp.

I bought a $10 lamp kit from the hardware store and added a lamp shade from Wal-Mart.

My dad helped me out with drilling holes in the lid and the back of the urn.  I didn't really want the cord to come out the valve so I did this instead.  My dad was really excited when I told him I was going to post it on Craftster.  He found this rubber thing at the hardware store to keep the metal from cutting/hurting the cord. So that was completely his idea.  He was really proud.  : )

2  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Help with Basic Cable Hat!!! on: January 21, 2007 09:01:26 PM
I'm new to knitting and so far all I've worked on are scarves.  I started the  Basic Cable hat this weekend from SnB nation.
When I began I cast on the 96 stitches and repeated k1,p2 through the first 96 stitches (or first round?) and then just knit the next one.  I did this same thing 6 times so that I had went through the 96 stitches a total of twelve times.  It looked correct at that point, but when I began the K2,p2,k6,p2 pattern it looked wrong.

I don't know if I'm making this harder than its supposed to be.  I started over and tried it exactly how the book says and it doesn't look right either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  My heads getting cold.  : (

Thanks!
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Photography (IMG heavy) on: January 03, 2007 12:12:31 PM
These are some of my photos from a class I took last semester.  We worked with 35 mm and black and white film.  All of the black and whites I developed and printed myself.  Any comments or critiques would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for looking.

These are from a carnival that went throught town.  I used them in a sequence project.

Here are some color photos
