i started joining mine! i decided to do the medium layout and shorten the back by one row so that its more of a shrug. i am done joining the back piece! now all i have to do is add the arms and the chest piece! i can't wait to see this thing on me. i am starting to get a little apprehensive as to how its going to fit me. i already made the squares for two of them and it would be very unfortunate if i put all that time and money into them and they looked weird on me. the picture is very unflattering because i am in a hotel room- its not uneven like it looks! here it is!!!

thanks! i have four done now- but i am pretty sure i am going to have to redo two of them. c'est la vie! i am a long time knitter but i haven't picked up the needles since i learned to crochet about 2 months ago. all i have crocheted before are hats. i guess i picked a fairly complicated pattern to start out with. reading the pattern and chart is confusing for me because i keep wanting to look at it like a knitting pattern. i think i finally have the hang of it now! I can't wait to see the final product! it's going to be soooo beautiful!!! here is one of my correctly done squares....

Your granny square looks great!!! did you have any problems in the 3rd and 4th rounds? i kept having to take mine out and start over but i couldn't put my finger on the problem. i think that mine are all going to end up different and i might have a hard time putting them together... oh well. i made 3 today...
