I made this shawl for my baby's room with Caron simply soft in solid and paints. I used a 24" Ashford Rigid Heddle loom Here it is on the rocking chair
My selvedges were wonky at first but they looked pretty good once I got the hang of things
I just knotted a fringe, I want to hemstitch my next project to see how that looks
Um, yeah, the title pretty much says it all. A WooLee winder is my tax refund gift this year so I just ordered it and am wondering how long those of you that have one had to wait
I am expecting another girl in July and wanted to spin something soft and washable to make her a shawl wrap. Here is the result so far, not thru knitting but I did start already
TFL, this is the first time I've had my wheel out in ages and I really enjoyed it
I haven't spun in forever as my toddlers who are 13 months apart got a bit too into the wheel for a while there. I finally broke my wheel out again this week as they are getting a little older and better able to keep their hands off the wheel. My daughter who is three and very into sleeping beauty walked into the living room and shouted "oh no mommy, don't touch it" when she saw me spinning
Here's my little cutie in her new outfit. All patterns are from YCMT, top is modified from the stripwork jumper, bottoms are easy fit pants, hat is by dainty designs
Ignore her ridiculous brother, he didn't take kindly to being asked to leave the backdrop
Lots more photos including up close of hat, buttons, etc on my Flickr
Here is yarn I spun on my drop spindle. I dyed the wool roving with Wiltons and then spun it up super thick and chunky. It's very slubby and unspun in parts which is what I was going for so I'm loving it. It feels like a cloud when you smoosh it. I plied it with silver and gold metallic thread and a few faux pearls.
