1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet Smurf Slipper Pattern - HELP!! on: December 09, 2008 09:03:17 AM
I was reminiscing this morning about crochet slippers.  Pretty weird, I know.  Anyways, my grandmother (who passed away about 5 years ago) who taught me how to crochet, used to make piles of pairs of slippers that anyone who was visiting her could wear.  That led to me remembering one year, for Christmas, my sibs & I received awesome crocheted slippers from her that had massive Smurf heads on them.  I would love to be able to reproduce these slippers as a present for my sibs (doesn't have to be for Christmas).I have searched the internet, and haven't been able to find a pattern.  I have found a photo of the slippers, but no pattern.

If someone out there could help me get a copy of this pattern, I would be eternally grateful.  I would even be willing to pay for the pattern (within reason) or craft my gratitude.  Feel free to PM me with any info or just reply here.
Thank you all for reading!   Grin
2  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: GRANNIES DAUGHTERS CROCHET SWAP R1 (CLOSED) Sendout-10/13/08 on: October 15, 2008 02:58:32 PM
I am talking about Canadian dollars.  Both of the packages that I received were in the exact same envelopes & the senders spent $1.42 & $1.23 to send them.  I don't know if the guy at Canada Post over charged me or if I need to rethink my packaging, but something has to change in order for me to stay on in this swap. Shocked

They were in the smallest padded envelopes that I could find.  However, I did have to send them from Canada...  The thing is that I have sent packages that literally weigh 10 times more & they cost me about $10-12  Huh

Finally sent out my packages!  I will have to figure out a better way to package them for next round though, they cost me $5 for each package!  No offence, but $10 per round seems a bit pricey for mailing scrap yarn  Roll Eyes

I got my goodies from kaishabackwards a couple of days ago, and now I finally get to share with everyone!

She gave me some framed stitchery from "Clerks 2"

An awesome Dogma Skeeball tote

And my absolute favourite item,  an awesome Silent Bob antenna topper for my car!!

A closer pic for details...

He is so cute, she even sewed him a baseball hat out of wool felt (I think) & even but the button on top.

Sorry for the crappy pics  Tongue  Anyways, thank you so much again KaishaBackwards, I got some really great stuff!!  Thanks again to Always Inspired for organizing.

Umheried what kid of dog is Lykos?  I have a rescue dog that looks just like him and we've been trying to figure out what she is.  I was told she was a border collie but she doesn't look the part.

We were told that his mother was a cocker spaniel & his father was a terrier.  I personally think that they were a bunch of liars!   Grin  His ears have super fine, slightly kinky hair like a cocker, but that is where any resemblance ends.  That plus he weighs nearly 60 lbs!

Here are the pictures of my, er, I mean OUR  Embarrassed awesome loot from Imagine.

First, an awesome & super warm blanket & matching stuffie!

Close up of the blanket to show the material (BTW, he loves the blanket & has already been using it today.  It is freakishly cold here today! Angry )

An awesome handstitched & personalized collar & a golden snitch charm for it!!  (Imagine stalked me & found out how much I love Harry Potter & Gryffindor)

Now, I would have loved to taken an action shot, but I literally couldn't take the next (& best) item from him.  When I took it off of him, Lykos immediately jammed his head back into it!! Grin

His very own Gryffindor scarf!!!   It is sooooo awesome!!  I love that she made it to look kind of like an ascot.  Lykos looks so debonair!

Action shot!

Posing for the camera...

All tuckered out!  (He uses all of his stuffies as pillows  Roll Eyes  He's a weirdo)

Thank you so very very much again Imagine!!!  Lykos & I both love everything!
