4  Help! I need help finding a pattern... in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions by mybuddyishot on: January 03, 2008 05:20:27 PM
Does anyone know of any pattern that at least resembles the shape of the awesome dress Carrie Underwood is wearing on the cover of Glamour right now?

Here is a picture of it: (the best I could find)

http://www.glamour.com/images/homepage/2007/12/home05_carrie_underwood.jpg

it's also kind of teared, so I'm not sure how to go about making that either...

Anyone have any advice ...and I'll love you forever!

EDIT:

Here's a better picture

6  It's a Jolly 'Oliday with Marrrry! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mybuddyishot on: April 20, 2007 07:45:18 PM
I am really confused and this is the first challenge I will have entered so if by posting it in this thread I am doing the wrong thing, please feel free to move it.

This bag is made with gray vinyl, black and turquoise fabric, black felt, and wonderful sew in printable fabric sheets. The picture is appliqued onto the vinyl.

Bag Title: It's a Jolly 'Oliday with Marrrry!

Bag Pictures:

The outside. The pins are holding it up because the button wasn't strong enough and I didn't know where else to hang it :-/

A close up of the picture on the front. It is really not as wonky as it looks, but I had the bag hanging from a lamp when I took this picture.

7  Fanjaya baggg in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mybuddyishot on: April 11, 2007 11:12:20 AM
If you don't like Sanjaya then you won't like my bag unless it's for comedic value. But I like him! I am probably the only person on earth who bought John Stevens' CD too, so it's obviously a problem I have.

Well anyhow, I printed these pictures onto some transfer paper and then sewed it behing like a black frame of sorts. It was originally supposed to say " I <3 Sanjaya" , with the pictures under it, but my stenciling of the   Sanjaya part didn't come out so neatly. It is lined with a bright yellow satin like material because that is what I had laying around, with yellow and black handles.

Sorry for the sunnny window behind and the wrinkle factor on the second picture.

8  zebra + lime green + polka dots = new bag? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mybuddyishot on: April 05, 2007 10:11:23 PM
I made a new bag and it was about time. It has a faux quilted look ( I didn't have any batting/fleece left Sad), with zebra print bottom and heart applique, green and white polka dot inside and biased tape (I believe that is what it's called) for the handle. I am still new/struggling with appliques so don't laugh at me  Huh

The whole bag

9  Vera Bradley eat your <3 out! and a question! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mybuddyishot on: February 07, 2007 07:16:13 PM
So the other day I got a new VB called a sherri I think? It's in the new peacock fabric and I love it very very much.

http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?dept=12&sku=106%3a66&

BUT THEN!! I decided, I want to make one like it. I made a template out of the bag and sewed it up. Instead of useing grommets, I just sewed on the ties and tied it tighter than the Vera which is why it is a different shape. I had been eying this fq at joann's for a while (the print is just so fresh aand cute, ya know??) so I finally picked it up with a giftcard I got and voila!

This one has a sexy pin in it, but it's finished... I don't know why the pin is there...

lime houndstooth lining<3

and my question... how do I fix THIS...

the loose looking stitch on the inside (under side) I've tried adjusting the bobin tension, the thread tension and everything  Huh

10  Ooh la la eiffel tower bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mybuddyishot on: January 03, 2007 04:54:10 PM
I just finished this bag I have been workingon for a couple days. I picked up the french themed fabric at joann and came home and found some purple vinyl to match. There is a purple appliqued (i think?) "eiffel tower" on one side. I didin't make the straps myself only because I kept having fights with the vinyl.

these next 2 are sideways...

inside lining is purpleish that I "quilted" by sewing it to some left over fleece
