1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Meet Jane Jetson! on: March 05, 2007 11:10:56 AM
Yes, I know it's March... not exactly anywhere near Halloween. But after looking at all of these fabulous costumes, I just had to share.

My Jane Jetson Costume:

I made the entire costume out of Purple and Silver vinyl without a pattern. I'm pretty impressed with how it came out. (I even installed a zipper on my own for the very first time!) Also, because it was basically pleather, it was so warm! haha.

Thanks for looking!
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Gifts to put Inside a Laptop Bag? on: February 19, 2007 01:18:11 PM
I bought my bf a crazy cool laptop bag for his birthday this sunday.
I want to put some cool things inside, but Im not sure what. Since the bag itself was pretty expensive, Im a little strapped for cash.

So far I was thinking:

A little notebook
Some hidden love cards (There are a ton of compartments in the bag!)
Some of his fave candy
A good novel

Any other ideas? Maybe something tech savvy?
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Aprons as Favors on: January 31, 2007 12:33:48 PM
My boyfriends sister is getting married and his mom and I are working on the bridal shower. She wants to do a cooking sort of theme, so I had the idea of getting aprons in her colors. (Pink and Green.)

However, I am having the hardest time finding aprons! I finally found pink ones, but that are $7 a piece and with 100 guests at the shower, its not really realistic. So I was wondering if I could purchase white ones and then dye them in the colors. If so, what dye should I use?

Also, I want to do an iron-on transfer for the aprons, but Im not sure what I should put.

Some thoughts Ive had are:

-Her wedding or shower date
-Her Monogram
-Sugar & Spice
-Love is in the Air

Can anybody else think of anything cute I could put on there instead?

4  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Pink Aprons??? To buy or to dye.... on: January 31, 2007 11:19:53 AM
Does anybody know where I can buy pink aprons I bulk?

I need about 100 plain pink aprons for a wedding shower favor. I was planning on screen printing them. Would I be better off buying white and then dying them? Ive never dyed anything before. Is it difficult? And would the color turn out ok?

Thanks in advance!

If I dont find what Im looking for I may just have to sew 100 aprons, but thats an absolute last resort.
