I got 2 more goodies today, so I'm only waiting on one thing now.

I got:
-a summertime apron from MissDisney that's just too cute- I love the pockets and can't wait to put the apron to use!
-a little birdy 'carry-some' wristlet from luckdragon, with a pretty (but not pictured) cherry fabric lining Smiley  It's the perfect size!

Also pictured is a quilted wristlet from Disco Queen Highness, which I forgot to take a pic of last time- I'd given it as part of a gift, but I borrowed it back to snap a pic.  Thanks everybody, for a lovely swap!

So, look at what I got today!

The pic was too cute to not post Wink I got an angel package from our lovely organizer RyverChyld today...and can finally post pics of everything I got!

So, first off is the knitted scarf she made me in various shades of grey, white and black (my fav colours!)...there's a lot of designs in it, so I sorta took pics of each section to show off the patterns better:

and yes, that's supposed to be all connected! here's my staircase modeling the scarf:

Then she went and made me a second scarf- a Rapunzel scarf in the same colour scheme!  It's really soft and warm, I'm wearing it right now Wink  One of the yarns also has some sequins woven into it, so there's a little sparkle to it that I couldn't capture with my camera.

Finally, she made me a tea wallet and sent along 2 whole boxes of tea...I've had a little cold lately from the weather, so this was perfect.  I'm drinking the green tea already.  And look at the fabric inside, so pretty!

And a group shot of everything:

Thank you so much, Autumn!  Everything's lovely and I can't wait to use it all Smiley  It might not be autumn anymore (-20 today in Toronto!) but they make perfectly wonderful winter scarves too  Grin

Here's a group pic of what I've recently received:

There was...
a pretty bird necklace from GatorWrangler
bird keychain from esmecraftin in my favourite colours!
sweater mittens from psoupdesigns- they're super warm, but strangely I seem to have got 2 right mitts
snowflake ornaments from Troublet, which are already on my tree Smiley
sweet treat earrings from freestyle; one's for me, while the other one's going to be a stocking stuffer!
notebook from goodmorningstarshine with the coolest cover

Thank you to all of you for a lovely swap!

34  Re: DECEMBER Birthday Swap in The Swap Gallery by thedreamer on: December 23, 2009 12:07:22 PM
I got a HUGE birthday package today from from ThreadOrYarn!

First off: a 'pick-your-length' penguin scarf- the instructions were too cute  Cheesy  I couldn't bear cutting up the little penguins, so I left the length as is........but I'm certainly admiring the upside-down penguins a lot!

Second: my very first knitted cowl  Smiley  It's this really pretty purple colour, and so comfortable and warm!  I couldn't get a decent shot of it to show off the pattern though =/  If you have a better pic, please do post it Smiley

and finally: a crazy load of supplies!  I got 3 sets of purse handles and straps, AND a bunch of safety eyes for my amigurumi- both of which aren't sold in my local arts and crafts stores.  Then there was a wooden crochet hook- I've always wanted to try one!  Here's a group shot that shows off all the new stuff I get to play with, on a piece of fabric she used to wrap everything up:

Lillian, thank you so much!  I got spoiled rotten Cheesy

ok ok, so here are the pictures!

First, some crocheted stars:

an AWESOME pencil roll- I love it!  I already stuck a bunch of pens in it, and now my desk is super clean Wink

and some cute little charms- I'm fascinated by the little frames and can think of uses for them already:

and finally, the most amazing thing of all...a matching tote bag!  with lots and lots of pockets, inside and out, to help me keep everything organized.  It's black on the outside, but I'm fairly certain that it's reversible, which makes it even cooler.  the green fabric's too pretty to hide anyways.

bag looks a bit weird flat, but I couldn't seem to stuff it enough to get a good picture of it so I ended up taking a picture of it like that.  it's perfect for my textbooks though, just the right size!

and the bag inside out:

also not pictured is a cute emery board (?) with buttons all over it.

I was so, so spoiled, and I LOVE everything!  Everything is just so 'me', from the penguins to the colours and the style.  Thank you so much to my secret santa...........belladune!  you're amazing <3

it's 11:57pm.  I'm tempted to wait 3min and rip open my package!

edit: ok, it's 12:01am, December 19th.  Here's a pic of what I opened up to...now excuse me while I go open all these amazing presents.  And yes, that is a little penguin (needlefelted?) sitting on my package from my secret santa Smiley  he's so cute!

Well...since my package seems to have gone missing, I figured I should at least post pics of what I made:

I made a scarf, with a 'Queen Anne Lace' pattern:

I also made matching mittens (the bundle at the top is the scarf, rolled up):

And I made a kitty hat, off my partner's wists:

It was my first attempt at mittens and a hat, so I was pretty happy with how they turned out!

39  Re: Sweat Shoppe Swap Round 21 (signups til Nov 24) (send by Dec 14) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by thedreamer on: November 23, 2009 05:32:18 PM
I was just trying to start my list, and see all this new great stuff.  This is going to be so hard!

Anyways, for the headbands, here's the colours that are available, though I've also got some yellow and orange cotton that isn't pictured.  I'll probably let people choose their top 3 colours and go from there, since I don't have much of the purple left:

I could also do different colours for the strands, either 2 strands one colour and one strand a different colour, or 3 different strands of colour.

They tie in the back and are therefore adjustable, but are made to fit adult-sized heads.  I wouldn't mind resizing this for a little girl though (just let me know!)

oh, I love the hats!  those take me forever to make and I'm amazed you can make one in a night.

So...pictures of what I'm offering- crochet headbands.  They're actually variations of the necklace Disco Queen Highness posted a link to, and they're adjustable with ties on the back...

(I had to get action shots because they looked really weird unworn...I'll be sending out new ones that nobody's worn Wink )

I've also thought of adding a flower to them to dress it up, or making the strands different colours....any suggestions?
