11  Re: MINI 12 Days of Christmas 2010 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by thedreamer on: November 10, 2010 09:21:47 AM
Thank you so much for everything, psyche!  I love my presents and it was a lot of fun opening them all up Smiley

On Christmas…
A new tote/purse!  Finally a bag big enough and strong enough for my books Smiley  Inside the purse was a matching change purse, and more chocolate.  Definitely made my day, thank you!

On the second day of Christmas…

A set of new books!  I received a used set (yes, she gave me the whole set, yippie!) of The Fionavar Tapestry books by Guy Gavriel Kay, who was influenced by one of my favourite authors, J. R. R. Tolkien.  psyche also included some bookplates designed by her sister, a glue stick to put them on, and a slew of bookmarks.  I particularly like the fabric ones, and the bear fabric is just too cute Wink

On the 3rd day of Christmas...
Some bath and body products- 3 chapsticks (which psyche made herself!), some apple scented goat's milk soap, cucumber scented hand sanitizer, and sweet pea body butter.  Perfect for the winter season Smiley

On the 4th day of Christmas...
Jewelry inspired by my wists- a key necklace and a loaded charm bracelet.

On the 5th day of Christmas...
A fabric-covered journal and a bottle of purple ink that I'll have fun experimenting with:

A new crochet hook roll (with 3 hooks already in it!)  She must've read my mind or something, because I just got some new jumbo hooks that don't fit in my old roll.

On the 7th day of Christmas...
Teeny tiny stockings (to go along with my teeny tiny Christmas tree?)  I put them next to a coin for size comparison:

On the 8th day of Christmas...
Two balls of yarn in a lovely teal colour!

On the 9th day of Christmas...
A set of stationery embellished with glitter, all tied up with some pretty lace:

On the 10th day of Christmas...
A new penguin friend for me Smiley

I also included a shot of him chillin' out with some other penguin stuffies I've collected over the years in swaps  Cheesy

On the 11th day of Christmas...
Some ornaments made of wire, in my initials.  They're now hung up on my tree Smiley :

On the 12th day of Christmas, my partner gave me...
Some delicious treats!  I was allowed to open the cookies before the 12th day (and they're all gone now!), but I managed to snap a pic before my family gobbled them up.  The tea, which I opened today, smells lovely and I can't wait to try it.

Group Shot of all the presents wrapped up!  Had to hide the box they came in so I wouldn't be tempted to just open them all right now Cheesy :

I received from our fabulous swap coordinator, and kept forgetting to put up pics.  So here we go!

When I first opened the box- full to the brim:

First batch of stuff is for crochet: all sorts of yarn and crochet thread!  She even snuck in some roving and (more) yarn into the insides of the crochet thread rolls  Cheesy

Second bunch of stuff is for me to start bookbinding, from left to right: paper/cardstock, thread, embroidery thread, and in the little bags there's brads for scrapbooking and belt buckles to decorate.  There's also some long zippers on the side that I'll probably use for crochet bags.  And on the right, fabric for book covers!

And, crochet hooks!  I asked for big, fat crochet hooks and sunspotted delivered Smiley  These are huge and perfect for making chunky scarves and bags:

Picture of everything together (excluding the hooks, I had them in my hook roll and forgot to include them):

Thank you for everything, sunspotted!  I'm busily crafting away for your gift   Wink

I finally received from 6craftycats!  I love this bookmark, can't figure out how she made it:

And lvl0rg4n asked me to post a pic of the bookmark I sent her- I only took a group pic before I sent them all out, so it's the one on the far left, a blue/orange book 'belt':

14  Re: Yarnies Vs Sewists R2 Gallery Sendouts Changed to September 3 in The Swap Gallery by thedreamer on: October 07, 2010 04:03:21 PM
I'm so sorry for not posting pics earlier Embarrassed ...they didn't turn out as nice as Staar84's, but here we go:

the crochet hook roll:  I personally love, love, love this blue, and I can't wait to use it for storing my crochet hooks...I'm trying to learn Tunisian crochet, so I needed a bigger roll Smiley  Here it is open, modeled with a dowel.

and the wallet, which has an insane number of card slots AND a zippered section.  Perfect for me Smiley  I used the green cards to show how how many slots she put in!

And all together:

Thanks for everything! Smiley

I've received 3 bookmarks so far:

a really pretty butterfly bookmark from windoverireland:

a cute bookmark with a sun and moon from Fontiua- I love the backing paper!:

and a ribbon bookmark with a nest charm from cuppiecakes83.  It has one of my favourite quotes from Emily Dickinson's poem written on the ribbon: 'Hope is the thing with feathers-- That perches in the soul...'

Thank you for all the lovely bookmarks!

A cute teddy with a green scarf, and my own human-sized green scarf to match from MissColee  Cheesy

Lovely papercut art from beccas_song:

A plethora of jewelry from craftygurll, Avesthel and darkangelwingz (going from left to right):

And finally, adorable shroomy pins from CraftyStoner!

Thank you all for a wonderful swap! Cheesy

My OTSC from saltandpepper...a jewelry set that's blue and features one of my favourite sea creatures, the seahorse:

It was really hard to get a clear shot of the beads- they're translucent blue with flecks of gold, silver and red in them.  The seahorse is the silver charm dangling in the middle of the pendant.

Thanks so much, saltandpepper!  I hope you'll like what I sent to you too Smiley

You can choose the colour of the bead and the number of beads, up to 3 Smiley

19  Re: Loaded Charm Bracelet Rnd. 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by thedreamer on: May 27, 2010 02:05:30 PM
So, here's my bracelet from rjannelle!  The theme was 'Treasure Island' Smiley

I moved all the charms to the bottom just to show them off better in the pic.  So, from left to right, there's a compass, a picture frame, a picture of a bird, a huge gem, a glass bottle with purple and white glass shards and shells in it, a treasure chest, a bird, a locket, a ship, and a treasure map (which says 'property of Davy Jones on the back  Cheesy)

The clasp was a lock and key, and you can also see the compass on the right (the compass lid can be opened and closed!) and the back of the treasure map to the left:

And here's another shot of the bracelet, you can see the treasure chest open in this pic, as well as the bottle:

I did end up adding an extra link to one of the ends, but I think it's only because this bracelet is super loaded  Cheesy Thanks for everything!  I hope you'll like mine as much as I love yours  Smiley

sheriffkarli, I'm glad that you like everything Smiley

Here's what I got:

From left to right: Milo the penguin, Otto the brown bear, and Walt the polar bear- yes, she named them for me!  And they all came with their own profile, which was too cute.  They're currently sitting on my bookshelf with some of my other amis  Cheesy

Thank you very much for everything~ I love them!
