21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / a couple new dresses on: April 24, 2007 11:35:05 AM
I was recently asked by a lady from work to make matching dresses for her granddaughters. Here's the final outcome, I think they turned out cute... sorry for the bad lighting in the pics. There's an S on the larger one for Samantha and the baby's had a C but I must not have had it pulled tight enough when embroidering (by machine) because it wrinkled a bit so I covered it with a cute pocket. The bigger one has a matching hairbow but the baby has no hair yet! Sorry for the run on sentence!

Country girls!
The next is for my friends daughter who is a huge strawberry shortcake fan. It has a matching hairbow too with it(you can see it along the neckline)

I have 3 boys so I make things for all the little girls I know. Thanks goodness my best friend has 2 little girls!
22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / cute tote with sparrow and rainboots? Oh my! on: March 26, 2007 01:09:11 PM
I made up this cute little tote this weekend. It's a collection of some cute fabric I fell in love with for who knows why and this great little sparrow that was from a free embroidery site!
You can't see it but it's lined with a black and pink polka dot fabric with pockets.

24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / uncommon threads how to? on: March 08, 2007 01:42:58 PM
I was watching uncommon threads this morning and they were reconstructing white t's into a wedding dress or something and all i could think of was the shirt the girl doing it was wearing. Here's a pic..it's kind of hard to see but this is the best picture I could find.  Does anyone know how to do this?
25  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Rolled edge with a serger help! on: February 28, 2007 11:04:55 AM

26  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Not "Just Another Holiday Dress" (Little Girls) on: January 30, 2007 01:44:56 PM
I made this dress also for my best friends daughter...I thought I would post it after entering the one I just made for her in the Movie Clothing Challenge.  I drafted my own pattern from a couple I have around here and just kind of played around with it 'till I got it like I liked. It's a bit out of your normal Holiday dress but, trust me, she's definitely one of a kind her self! First picture is of the dress itself. It's completely lined with all seams facing the inside of the dress. There's a ribbon around the waist with a bow to make it look a bit like a Christmas package.
Closeup of the cute little bow
The bottom looks a bit odd on the model but it actually looks really cute on her, I wish I had a picture of her in it but alas...I can't wait to start working on her easter dress, I'd like to do a valentines outfit if I have time but have 3 boys of my own and my husband travels a lot sooo....me time doesn't always happen!
27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Happy Feet and then some! on: January 24, 2007 02:09:28 PM
My Best Friends daughter is soooo into penguins right now after March Of The Penguins and Happy Feet came out so I made this adorable dress for her. It's completely lined and has a bright pink tulle under skirt with a layer of soft white cotton to keep the tulle from "bugging her" as she would say. I just love this dress. Oh, and the bow can be tied in front or back but I like it in the front. The first picture is of the dress and the second is just a close up of the bottom where the tulle peeks out and the pink polka dot ribbon I used for accent. I finally posted enough times to have my pictures here. YEAH! Guess I'm officially not just a lurker now.

28  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 16 ENTRIES / Super Mario Bros. Mario and Luigi on: November 13, 2006 04:56:40 PM
I have 3 boys and every year they pick a new video game character to be...this time it was the Mario Bros..Luigi and Mario our youngest was Yoshi but he simply wore a green dragon costume he had...and boy did he get mad when someone called him some thing other than Yoshi! These were fun and easy to make and they were a hit every where we went! They got a big kick every time someone recognized them. All I had to make was the overalls  and the hats, we added, gloves and a mustache and they were good to go! Here's a link to the picture since I'm too new here to actually post a picture it says http://img480.imageshack.us/img480/8282/mariojp1.jpg
