1  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Painted Egyptian-Themed Shoes {PIC HEAVY} on: April 09, 2009 04:42:59 PM
Thank you everybody for such nice comments!

They DID take a LOOOONG time, but it was basically because I've never painted on shoes before and switching from canvas to shoes is a little weird because of the shape, etc...haha.

I hadn't thought of using acrylic sealer for some reason.  Thanks for the suggestion! I will DEFINITELY give it a try!
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Baby Granny Square Blanket + Baby Pocket :) on: April 09, 2009 04:38:34 PM
Thank you everybody for all the sweet comments!

The colors are baby pink, cream, and dark chocolate, and I just kinda winged the pattern and joined the squares together!

chimes, aren't granny squares fun?  I attached mine by just weaving a stitch through the outermost stitches, so that the stitch was kind've hidden...haha not sure if that makes sense!

Thanks again everybody!  Cheesy

Hi, Craftster!
I painted these for my boyfriend, who is from Egypt.  I used acrylic mixed with textile medium, but I had some trouble with a little cracking.  So, I went over it and tried to fix it with some fabric paint..we'll see how that pans out.

Any suggestions on what to seal them with??

Anyway!! On to the pictures!!

Thanks for looking!! Cheesy
4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Baby Granny Square Blanket + Baby Pocket :) on: April 08, 2009 09:26:38 PM
Hello!!
So, I just made these for my boyfriend's cousin's two little daughters.  The blanket was for the new baby and the little baby pocket was for the big sister.

Here's the full blanket:

Detail of the edging:

The new baby's name is Chloe, so I put a C into one of the granny squares Smiley

Here's the baby pocket + doll for big sis, Gianna:

It was a lot of fun making them.  I kinda just made a giant granny square for the baby pocket and then sewed it together so it would fit around the doll.

Hope you enjoy!  Smiley
