This is the first thing that i made that looked like i bought. It turned out amazing considering i worked on it 2 days before prom and the day OF prom. I'm really freaking proud of it. I bought a dress weeks before. I only bought it because my sisters and mom were being pains in the asses so i just picked one that looked decent so we could go home ( we were at the mall for 5 hours). my sister talked me into getting red shoes (the dress was navy blue) for some reason i agreed. they didn't match at all (i told my date to get red so it would bring out my shoes). a week before prom i decided i hated my dress and went to the mall to look for a cheap one. there wasn't anything good. disgruntled, i realized "HELLO DUMMY YOU CAN SEW". so i ran down to joanns and spent roughly $65 on a dress compared to that stupid dress i bought which was around 170. GOOD DEAL. i didn't tell my mom that i was making a dress so when she saw me in it she was a little aggitated that i had a different one on i said i made it and i'm wearing the other one to graduation which is true. then she started screaming "what the hell?! it looks soo good blah blah blah" i got tons of compliments that night on the dress too.

I am horrible at hemming. I'm currently making a built by wendy top (4112). It has the makings of becoming a great shirt BUT when i hemmed the sleeves it looks all wonky. it flips out and it just looks ugly. like this (sorry for the bad quality):





does anyone have tips or pointers on how to make the hem look smoother and less bad?

hey guys. i've been working on my cupcake for the past couple of days. things have been going fine until i started the front neck. i'm really confused whan it says mark center of 18 sts on last row for neck opening. the whole shape neck part confuses the heck out of me. PLEASE HELP! i'm in need of clothes bad haha.

So i'm helping my friend make his madrigals (renaisance) costume and its due oct. 12. I was dumb and picked out the wrong size. The pattern only goes up to a Large and he's an XL. Would it work if i just cut out the large and then when cutting out the pattern just add extra fabric around it or should i just go to the store. The thing is i don't have time to go out and buy another pattern. If i do it wouldn't be till the weekend and i HAVE to start asap. PLEASE CRAFTSTER HELP ME OUT!
