32  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Purim gifts?? on: February 23, 2007 10:09:41 AM
I don't know if anyone on here celebrates purim but it's a Jewish holiday that is dubbed by the non-religious as a "Jewish Halloween" (so not true..) anyway now that my bffls and i have been dispersed i need ideas about what to get them.... besides hamentaschen and candy  Cool I know no one gives gifts for purim but I'm weird like that

Thank yas!  Grin

And yes, I am rather insane with being a vegertarian. I have nothing against those who aren't, but sometimes when my friends eat meat I moo.  Cheesy

Yay, tree hugging vegetarians! we rock!

I love ballerina flats, what I don’t like is their price  (40 € is a bit too much for me), so after browsing this wonderful forum I thought I could do them myself.

I bought some pairs of these very cheap (3 € each) and plain canvas-type shoes

I cut the front part and a bit of the sides to give it the typical ballerina shape, sewed some colourful bias tape around the raw edge, added some embellishments, and these are the results:

The beige ones are the first I made, and I cut too much from the heel part. When I walked fast they slipped, so I had to sew some elastic, and now they stay in place.

I love them a lot. They’re very comfortable, can get washed in the washing machine, and with four pairs I always have cute shoes to match with my clothes!

Hope you like them!

Ohmigosh I LOVE the purple ones- they'd go perfectly with my lavender polka dotted scarf sort of '60s look. Well anyway, they ROCK.
35  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / holiday gifts? on: November 18, 2006 07:20:22 PM
I'm stumped. If I'm only entertaining those closest to me, I have two rock-obsessed friends, a girly friend, a friend I want to paint for, a friend I want to get jewelry or something cozy for, two little doggies, an imaginative, sword loving little cousin, a mother, father, four grandparents and an aunt. Oh, and my bratty sister Wink HELP!
