11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Just some questions on: May 16, 2007 08:18:56 AM
Hey there.
Well i want to get my business to a larger audience instead of just the people my dad works with and my teachers. lol. I see many different types of items that have nothing to do with each other. lol. Well my biggest hit it cookie/brownie/cake in a jar. Everyone knows what that is right? oK if you dont heres the basics: You put all the dry ingredients into a large jar and then attach a reciepe jar to it and all they have to do is add the egss or whatever else is need.... I have so many different kinds of cookies and brownies. Also i sell candys... Already made suckers and rock candys. I also have molded colored chocolate candies. Those are the funnest to make btw. lol. Not so much alike right? Well here it get funny. Im gonna attempt to sell soaps and bath salts and those kind of things. I was wondering what is the best way to advertise. I have posted in the business card swap about possibly making a menu looking thing. But heres a major speed bump. I dont have a credit card so i am not able to get a website of any kind pretty much. So i was thinking of doing it all through email. Put the email on the "menu" or whatever then they can email me and i could send them pictures. Another problem i wouldnt be able to get a paypal so i would have to just use money orders or checks. Does this push people away? Sorry about just ranting but im only 16 and i want to have some extra money for fun things cuz when i get my real job this summer its all going towards my college classes for the summer and my car. So i would like to have some money for my wants.. lol. But thanks for listening if you got this far and thanks for all the advice in advance.  Oh and if this is in the wrong spot im terribly sorry. Im still learning everything.

17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Birthday and One Year!! on: December 19, 2006 09:38:24 AM
Hey guys. My boyfriends birthday in on the 23rd of January but then our one year is on the 29th. Im already getting him a ring for our one year so i cant spend too much on his birthday. I know he going to go over board with my bday cuz he cant get my anything for Christmas. So i want to make something really special but not too cheesy. Something he can use but wont be embarrrassed. Im buying him a couple of shirts and boxers. He likes dirt bikes and he races. He has a truck that he loves. I was going to make a little coupon book. So any ideas for the coupons would help. I dont want to overkill it. I want to seperate a couple of gifts from his bday and our one year. I hope this isnt confusing. I just need some ideas for a 16 yr guy that i love. Please help and thanks
18  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Just starting on: December 14, 2006 08:02:43 AM
Hello. Im just starting to make soap. I have been to many websites. I just bought some soap molds. Where is the best way to start? Oh yes. Where can i get the scents for soap without getting them online? I live in Texas so if that helps. Um.. can you just use food coloring for dying the soap? Or do you have to use something else. I hope im not reposting this or anything. I did a quick search and i didnt find anything but i could have just written something wrong in the search engine. Well yea. Thanks guys.
19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Boyfriends family? on: December 12, 2006 08:21:42 AM
Hi. Me and my bf have been together for a little less then 11 months. I want tp give his mom, dad, brother, and sister something. His mom and I get along very well. I want to give her and his dad something they can share. Here is what they like or do:
1.books
2.Movies
I have a brain blockage right now but i was thinking a little basket full of packages of popcorn or crackers or some type of snack they enjoy. A couple of packages of Hot chocolate. But what else? If i can find something to do with reading that would be great. Im super low on money since im only a teenager. So if there is something i can make and be useable. Im already doing a bunch on bookmarks for them.

His brother:
1.karts. He races go karts that go really fast, lol
2. Video games
3. He throw around a football everyonce in awhile
4. he has an xbox
5. food. lol

So what i can get him? I have no ideas what so ever. He is only 10 and little hot wheels arent going to cut it for him. lol

His sister: i want to get something that her, her husband and their baby can all use. I dont really know what she likes. I know she enjoys watching movies. They are going through troubles too so something to help them out without being obvious. This is going to be my hardest. I might make stationary for her and her husband that had little baby feet prints on them. But im not sure. She is 21 or 22 and her husband is that much older. Their baby is only a couple of months old and is a boy.

Thanks for all the help. And please give ANY suggestions. I can make jewlery kind of. I sew but not to an advance level. Im getting a bunch of scrapbook paper in the mail sometime this week or next. So anything to help. I might just buy his sister something and make the rest. But i really want to make something for everyone.

Oh and maybe something for my bf:
1. motocross
2. me
3. friends
4. music
5.movies
6.books
He has a guitar, he rides dirt bikes. We arent going to be able to spend xmas together. We will be celebrating it a week later at a hotel in our town. He just got his licence. Im getting him visor cd holders. Axe spray. And a car air fresherner. But what i can i make him that has to do with motocross? I was thinking maybe making a bookmark with pictures but he might not like it. He says anything from me will be just fine but i want it to be special. Our first xmas together and the first time we have given gifts. I want it to be great.

Once again, thanks. Any help is great. Thanks craftsters.
