1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Everything was destroyed! on: October 19, 2007 11:52:46 AM
Well this weekend, I had a little problem with my bathroom and while I was out on Saturday my sink broke and the pipe busted. Well on to the problem. All my paper, stickers, cards, everything were destroyed! It has taken awhile to get it all together and very expensive. Anyone know of good sites besides etsy to get good prices for large quanties? I need just about anything you can think of. I had alot of valuable things that were also destroyed and this has been really hard on me since most things that were destroyed were helping me with an income. I sell my cards on etsy but I can not make any new ones to list due to the fact that I have no supplies. It has been very depressing to me.  Embarrassed and I cant really express my feelings to my non-crafty friends. lol. But I would be really grateful for all the help. Also to get alot of my supplies I traded and got some awesome things that i cannot get again! This weekend was just bad in all. Sorry about ranting but Im done now. Im just looking for cheap prices, larga quanties!

Post-its all over the car!  I LOVE it!!  Or all over a room...like in the movie Bruce Almighty!  Ooooh, that could be fun.... Cheesy
lots of balloons in truck, thats all i can think of now. like stuffed. you could put messages in the balloons too. or post-its all over the car if he's with you that day  Smiley

I wish I could but he lives 6 hours away! I wonder if I could still do it.

Alright, I know it's early, but I need to make something for the boy for Christmas...  I had made him mittens, but I gave them to him early because winter comes fast in Alberta.  In any case, last year I made him monster slippers which I stuffed with various other fun things, some bought, some made.  I'd like to repeat that if possible, but with what?  A hat?  Socks?  Does anyone have another idea for something stuffable?  or even for stuffings?

You could do a pillow case with your name and his and then stuff it with goodies. Or you could do a laundry basket filled with stuff. Who doesnt need a laundry basket. If you are tight on money Think dollar tree and you can get candys and snacks and stuff to fill up the bottom and then if you can sew make him some pjs and a shirt. Or possibly even a quilt or blanket.

Im making my boyfriend a quilt with our names and the year we started dating on it. And this: Always and Forever and a Half.

I need more ideas though. We didnt do ANYTHING last Christmas or his birthday which is in Jan. Hes turning 18 so its a big one.

I just got a job so im not tooo worried about money. Plus I want to spoil him because he always does it for me and he just moved 6 hours away and I want him to always have something to think about me by.

He rides dirtbikes but not as much anymore. He plays the guitar. I made him picks last year and Im gonna do it again and anther pick holder outta a altiod tin. He lives right by Austin, Texas. Weve been together almost two years. He has a truck that he loves. I cant really think of what else might help.
Any ideas would be great?

Sorry about such a long post.

I have gotten a job at a local craft shop and I will be talking to my boss about having some promos packs available to give out for free.

This is good promotion towards my shop and others. I have put together about a hundred already for craft shows and for my sales(none yet btw) but I also thought promoting at a craft store would also help.

Does anyone think this would be a good idea?
