so snyder's pretzels has put out a new product this winter, their fudge covered peanut butter sandwiches (they're a limited edition, so if you are interested in buying them~at around 3.50 per wimpy bag~ get them before they're gone!)
although i cannot deny that they are quite amazing, i refuse to pay that much for such a small bag, when i can make them much more inexpensively...
soooo here's my compromise:
i still bought snyder's pretzels, in the "snaps" variety. (about 2 bucks per bag~ 1 lb.)
then i bought some peanut butter and a package of chocolate almond bark
simply take 2 pretzels, sandwich some pb in it, and coat in melted almond bark.
also note- depending on how warm your kitchen is (or dorm room lol- my heater will NOT turn off) it may benefit to freeze the sandwiches before you dip them in the almond bark.
if this is the case, you may also want to keep them in the fridge once the chocolate has set, just to prevent them from melting all over your hands whilst snacking
excuse this disgusting picture portraying my excitement and amazement with this new-found joy.
i know it seems like a no brainer, but the most awesome part of this is that for a dollar more than the amount of money that it took to buy one bag of the premade kind, i bought enough supplies to make at least 4 times that!
p.s.~ due to recent discoveries, i have now become infatuated with dipping anything and everything that i can into almond bark. it instantly turns ordinary food into candy. yumm! i'll post my next almond bark recipe hopefully tomorrow, pending how my photo-shoot with the subject turns out
