1  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Pippi Kneestockings Help!! on: June 23, 2005 04:31:26 PM
"I'm working on the pippi kneestockings, and I'm to the heel turn. And I simply can not figure it out. I have 26 sts like I'm supposed to, but if I follow the pattern, then I'll have 23 sts where I'm supposed to have 24. I'm so confused. Please help."

I copied this post word for word 'cause I am having the EXACT same problem, and no one was able to help poor Sarah out!!!  Hopefully I will be more fortunate.  What am I doing wrong?

Also, at the end of those directions, my yarn is on both needles.  Is that right?

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / CraAAaazZZyy Pineapple!!!! on: May 16, 2005 09:09:45 PM
Okay, dudes and dudettes... I work at a bank and we're having "tropical week" as a promotion/ invest in your future type thing.  So my manager decides we should have a pineapple decorating contest. Here's my pineapple, so far everyone loves him!  Or at least is a bit creeped out by him, which, in my  opinion is even better.

Right now he's proudly sitting on my window waving at all of my customers.  He was actually inspired BY my customers, 'cause when I'm looking down a looong line of people waiting to be helped, all I see are their PIERCING eyeballs staring me down.  Of course, I leave this part out when people ask about how I got the idea, hehehee....

And yes, he's holding a deposit slip and money.  And yes, that IS (or was) Mr. Potato Head's arms and feet.  Heh.  Silly pineapple.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Post a single crochet swatch? on: March 20, 2005 08:41:48 PM
Okay.... Here's the scoop, fellow Craftsters...

I CAN'T CROCHET!!!  I have learned the basics and can whip the hook around pretty quickly, but I don't know if it looks the way it should.  All the tutorials online only show one row and don't show what the finished product should look like, which drives me bonkers.

Can someone please crochet me up a single crochet swatch?  Preferably a bit loose so I can see how the stitches should look.  I think that would help me out right now more than anything.

I wish I knew someone that could crochet, I really need to watch it SLOWLY and be able to ask questions.  The videos online don't help 'cause they're too short.

Okay, I'm rambling.  Anyone who can crochet me up a swatch will... ummm.... be my best friend?   Tongue

Thank you all!!!!!   Grin

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Seed beeds and Jump rings and Hooks, oh my! on: February 20, 2005 09:10:13 PM
My first EVER beading experience.  It was fun!  But man, does it strain your eyeballs.   Smiley

The hooks and jump rings look gold, but are infact silver, and the seed beads are as shown.  Don't know if I'll ever wear them, but I'm proud of them none the less.  What do you think?

And yes, that is my towell bar and two hair ties...  I couldn't think of anything else to use.   Grin
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / V Day Wrapping Paper and Card ::warning lots o' mush:: on: February 13, 2005 03:55:48 PM
After spending WAAY too much on my fiance's Valentine's Day gift, I decided to hand craft him a card and wrapping paper.  This is perfect for any holiday, a lot of fun, and gets lots of "ooh's" and "aah's".

I put the original photo in the pic. too, so you could see what I started with.  I know it's a bit gradeschool, but that's kinda what I think of when Valentine's Day comes around anyway.  "Will you be my Valentine" how cheezy!  Cheesy

What do you think?
