41  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Procrastination Altered Tin on: February 19, 2012 10:07:31 AM
Alrighty all. I made this altered tin for the fantastic loves2experiment in the Wicked Vices Altered Tin Swap. One of her vices was procrastination, and i can totally relate to that.

Loves2experiment put into words what i was trying to express:
I love the nonchalant and calm demeanor on the cover...even as deadlines are looming Tongue

The top is made from polymerclay and painted with acrylic paint.

Inside are two little items.

A tiny canvas with the quote "The sooner i fall behind, the more time i have to catch up." All around the edge.

And a little pollyclay bird. "The little black bird is what I imagine procrastination as...a black bird that flys around my head making me lose my motivation"

I used this generator to make my chart: http://www.stitchpoint.com/eng/tool/alph/cross-stitch-writing-tool.php .
43  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Alien Birth Relief on: March 24, 2011 09:46:40 AM
I made this in a beggining Sculpture class last summer. This is my relief based on my favorite painting ever Birth of Venus by Botticelli. I based the landscape on the moon, with all the craters in the ground. There is a sun and another planet in the background. It's super shinny from the glaze so it's a bit hard to photograph.

Here is a picture of it when the clay was still wet, before I fired the frist time. I love this picture!!

I still need to do some touch ups; like painting the grout with a gloss black paint, fix some of the white parts that are meant to be black, paint the sides and frame it. I love it so much, I'm really impressed that I could make something like this!

What do you think?
44  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Daleks In Love on: February 25, 2011 06:14:36 PM
I love cross stitch for four reasons:
1. I love the way it looks.
2. It's relatively simple to do.
3. I can easily make my own patterns.
4. It's a great craft to do while sitting on the couch.

I'm definitely not an expert or very talented at cross stitch, but I had so much fun designing and stitching these two daleks in love. I originally was only going to stitch one dalek but i didn't have any normal dalek floss colors. So I stitched a cute dalek in pink and purple. After I finished it I felt like it was lonely and stitch a blue and green dalek to keep it company. I framed it an adorably tiny hoop! I love tiny things!

45  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I LOVE Bracelets! on: February 17, 2011 09:06:17 PM
I love bracelets! Thin ones, thick ones, clusters, charms, interchangeable beads. I've just realized this addiction, but I don't think I'm going to look for any help! After getting two beautiful bracelets from TheSapphireMoon, I decided to make a few today out of some jewelry kits i have. The kits come with everything you need to make a certain project, but I usually don't like the project so much, though the beads and charms are pretty. So I decided to make my own bracelets out of them!

46  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Girly Fabric Basket on: February 01, 2011 11:52:23 PM
I made this for my niece's birthday. She's turning three, and I wanted to make her something she could always use, instead of a dress she'll only be able to wear for a few months (I know, I'm such a FUN aunt  Roll Eyes Wink ). I also made a fabric banner in matching fabric. The size I made would work perfectly hanging on a closet rod.

I used this tutorial: http://ayumills.blogspot.com/2008/05/tutorial-fabric-basket.html
