I painted all these boxes for valentines. They were a fun quick project. The skull is my favorite!

42  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / A ton of Ruffle Scarves! on: January 29, 2013 09:41:08 PM
I made a bunch of these ruffle scarves (We'll actually my boyfriend made most of them, but I taught him!  Roll Eyes ). They are really easy a quick to do, and turn out pretty cute! I made 35 all together!

Me modeling one of them

It was a lot of fun and felt nice to make something so quickly that turns out really well. I'm proud of me him mostly!

43  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Two Sided Painted Owl Jar on: January 18, 2013 05:36:21 PM
I found this unfinished ceramic owl at the thrift store, the inside had been glazed already. I loved the owl and wanted to do two different sides. A sun/moon side and a purple side, very me. lol

44  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Foam Core Board Shelves for Knick Knacks! on: January 15, 2013 09:10:29 PM
I love getting knick knacks, I've been collecting them for so long, but never had a good place to display them without wasting a lot of space and or covering up something. I used this tutorial to make these boards. They were SO easy to make and turned out pretty well. I didn't use the center support part, because once all the pieces are together the hot glue keeps it pretty sturdy! I made all my shelves 2 in deep and 3 in tall. After I put it all together I spray painted it because it was old advertisement boards. But I've also made one out of plain black foam core board and I don't feel the need to spray paint it, though I might cover it with fabric later to make it look fancier for my handmade knick knacks I need to display.

It was definitly worth making, and after I made the first one, it was alot simpler and quicker to make the second.

45  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Painted Jewelry Boxes on: January 15, 2013 06:48:33 PM
I painted these, I needed to do something that was painted artwork but functional in some way so I made these into jewelry boxes. I added mirrors and felt to the inside. They are just wooden boxes I got at the craft store, some feet glued on and after painting sprayed with two layers of super gloss finish. These we're the only pictures I got of them before sending them out, i wish I had gotten single shots of each.

I was inspired last week and started painting. I started out with an owl. I was just going to do one painting, but I had so much fun I did five!

47  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Kitchen Themed Inchies on: March 29, 2012 05:30:46 PM
I made these for jo_mama in the OWS.

Painted lime/red/aqua with acrylic paints. I cut out all the words from a dictionary, it was fun looking for words that were kitchen related! And i got all the pictures from a vintage homemaker book.

48  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Virgin Mary Shrines on: March 29, 2012 05:26:54 PM
I made these both for jo_mama in the OWS.

This one is a Altoid Shrine without the lid. I used glitter paper from the scrapbook isle since I could not get a good coverage of loose glitter. I glued on the top brooch and all the rinestones and it took forever! haha. I painted the sweet little Mary figure white with acrylic paints.

49  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Dedication to Her Terribly Importantness on: March 05, 2012 12:29:57 PM
I made this for the totally awesome rlynn in the Terribly Important SOB swap! She has been dubbed the "Marchioness of Finesse and Creativity" so I wanted to make her a Terribly Important shrine. I made it in turquoise and red because Her Marchioness likes that color combo. I found the laser cut wood frame at Michael's and made a box, about an inch deep, to fit behind it for awesome shadow box/shrine effect lol. I painted to wood frame red, and very lightly dry brushed over it with black paint. The picture flattens it a bit, but all the things inside the frame are popped out a little to add dimension.

It look pretty awesome IRL and I really wanted to adopt the name so I could keep it for myself, but alas, it was meant to be with the Wonderful rlynn!

50  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Procrastination Altered Tin on: February 19, 2012 10:07:31 AM
Alrighty all. I made this altered tin for the fantastic loves2experiment in the Wicked Vices Altered Tin Swap. One of her vices was procrastination, and i can totally relate to that.

Loves2experiment put into words what i was trying to express:
I love the nonchalant and calm demeanor on the cover...even as deadlines are looming Tongue

The top is made from polymerclay and painted with acrylic paint.

Inside are two little items.

A tiny canvas with the quote "The sooner i fall behind, the more time i have to catch up." All around the edge.

And a little pollyclay bird. "The little black bird is what I imagine procrastination as...a black bird that flys around my head making me lose my motivation"
