31  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Weekend Trick or Treat Swap 2016 Gallery on: September 28, 2016 04:54:00 PM
I received from Mellius01 today!
She sent in a black pumpkin that is really cool! I haven't seen a black one and it's definitly going to hang around in my bedroom once I get some shelves up!

She sent a bunch of fun extras. Some Halloween stickers, the Dracula pen dispenser came in a coffin! So cute! I got into the cinnamon apple hottamales right away! I have tried those before! Very good!

For the crafted items she made me some great fishnet style hand warmers and a cuuttee crochet black cat! It's going to be hard to keep it away from the actual cats!

Thanks so much Mellius01!

This was such a fun swap! Let's do it again!

33  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Eyeball Pendants on: September 27, 2016 12:32:20 PM
I did a personal swap with Sheepbue and she likes eye! I happen to see a pendant like this on her pinterest, and it is one i have admired myself for a long time, and decided to finally try it myself. I used seed bead, tube beads, some vintage rhinestone jewelry, doll eyes i pulled right out of their heads, and some pendant blanks. I used e6000 to glue it all together, i'd probably use something designed for jewelry next time, but that's all i had on hand. the original pin also looks like they grouted the pendant too,, but i was afraid i might mess it up and these were the only pendant blanks i had. I only got a close up of the one, the other is grouped with some eye flowers and a funny skeleton i also made recently.

I want to make more with other color schemes. what do you think?
34  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Steampunk Style Ray Gun on: September 27, 2016 12:15:10 PM
I bet everyone has seen that pin on pinterest on how to make steampunk guns and props. You just need a toy gun, some bits and bobs, black spray paint and Rub and Buff Metallic Finish. This project was so simple, but had a lot of steps and drying time.

I got the plastic gun a Dollar tree, roughed it up a bit for some texture, glued a bunch or random doodads on, including plastic gens, googly eyes, metal studs, gears, game pieces, paper brads, etc.

After a coat of black spray paint, i added the rub and buff in two colors, copper and pewter, and for a colorful light effect used some nail polish on some of the brads.

I really love the effect and want to make so much more steampunk weapons! I also would like to try the rub and buff technique on some extra funko pops i got. Who things a steampunk style ariel would be cool?
35  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / I Love Zombies Bracelet on: September 27, 2016 12:05:34 PM
I made this for bunny1kenobi is the Giant Multi Theme Swap! One of her themes was The Walking Dead. I was debating on what to make, since I don't watch the show i don't know much except what i see in memes on the internet. I found the zombie themed charms in the halloween jewelry supply section at Joanns and I had to get them. I found an old glass bead bracelet at the thrift store that I used all the black and red beads off of, and I had a wax cord bracelet from hottopic with the three brain charm in the middle. I took all the things apart and put them back together as this very cool charm bracelet. This was one of my favorite items and I was pretty sad to be sending it away, but since I'm not much of a fan of zombies it would be silly for me to keep it.

What do you think?

YAY! glad you liked everything. I think i forgot a note in package (as always) but wanted to explain a few things. The blanket may seem a weird shape because I had originally tied all the ends, but when I was finished it looked awful. I couldn't untie them so i cut it off and just did a simple fringe instead. It was also supposed to have two layers, but then i realized you live in AZ and that was probably over kill haha!

The bookmarks were made with no inks or stains so it shouldn't leave any colorful marks in any books.

The fairy tale book i intended to be a large, actual finished altered book (using the pictures from the two small story books i sent along), but as the other themes came together i was left with the 6 smalls, so i hoped it can be used as a journal or art journal or whatever you may like to do with it!

I had so many ideas for you it was so hard to narrow it down! There are still things I'd like to make. The steampunk theme was my favorite to work on! I admire the style but it's not something i collect or have an interest in the cosplay part of, but I've always wanted to make one of these awesome ray guns!!! I bought so many gears for this theme and ended up with waaayy too many so i sent along some so you can create something with them!

My favorite items were the scarab painting (it took forever and until the very end looked like i was going to have to scrap it, but i really loved the finished product), the zombie bracelet (i buy clearance jewelry at hottopic all the time and the 3 brain charm came off of one of those cheap wax cord bracelets, i found the zombie themed charms at joanns and a black and red glass bead bracelet at the thrift store).I was trying to find a reason to keep it, but I'm not a fan of zombies in general so it would be silly for me to keep it.

This was such a fun swap! I can't wait for the next one!!
