I used a beach towel to cover these throw pillows!  It worked so well.   What do you think?

I had been storing my GPS in a sock... yes a sock... for almost a year before I finally got around to making this case for it.  Works perfectly!  Now my parents want me to make them one.  For the record, using a sock worked fine too, but I guess this is cuter.

My first forays into crochet were about a year ago... but then I stopped.  A couple of days ago I found the time to get back into it and I made this cozy headband with a big pom pom.  Yay, warm and happy me. 



The yarn I used is nothing special... some kind of craft yarn I found in my parents' basement a long time ago.

What a good start to the new year!  I used one school t-shirt, plus a bit of another school t-shirt, to make these very comfy yoga pants!  I'd never made pants this way before and the fit turned out to be much better than I anticipated.  It probably helped that I tried them on several times in the process of making them.  All in all, new pants to wear while I watch my team in the Sugar Bowl tonight! Comments (good and bad) welcome.

I just made my first crocheted anything, ever, and it is a hat!  I am so excited with the results!

I just made it up as I went along and I know it's probably not that thrilling to you friends out there who actually know what they're doing, but I am so thrilled to have made something at all.  This opens up a whole new world for me...    Please let me know what you think, good or bad, or offer advice because like I said I'm a COMPLETE beginner.

[Black Dress:]

Here are a couple of pieces I made recently.

Black Dress: Supersoft, thick black knit fabric.  My own design.  I just realized all my great mirror shots cut out the skirt, so... it hits about mid-knee, a little higher with a belt.

I wanted a "little black dress" that was comfy and modest, but definitely still pretty.  I got what I wanted and it fits perrrfectly.  Love it, but what do you think?   

I originally designed it to wear just plain, like so...


I love how it drapes and how the ruffles turned out.


I also discovered that I can wear it other ways with this belt I have.  This way makes me think of a formal luncheon or something.  I never go to formal luncheons, and will probably never wear it like this.


But I DO like it this way, with the belt low-slung, more fun, kinda.  What do you think?  Which way do you like it? (if you do like it, haha)


White Top: Semi-sheer cotton.  The sleeves tie into little bows, but I couldn't tie them myself.  Please use your imagination.    Oh, it started as a BBW pattern, but I ended up doing quite a bit of modification.  I'll do a bit more before I make it again, which I plan to.  I like the style for spring and summer.

Over a long time, I have looked at all the drawings in this topic, and wow!  It's so fun to look at everyone's doodles, so I thought I'd finally contribute a few of my own... although they aren't computer edited works of art, just my imagination on pieces of paper (thanks to Santa, I'll be able to express my thoughts in a real sketchbook now... aka no blue lined scraps ripped out of my school notebooks!)  But for now, ta-da.

Hey everyone!  In two short days, I'm heading home for the holidays from college.  I don't get much crafting done when I am here, unless you count sketching, and I'm looking forward to having plenty of creativity time.  Here is my list of 12 crafting or cooking project I hope to do over break.  Many are things I've been wanting to try but haven't had the chance.  If I do one per day, it will be 12 days of Christmas crafting!  Just thought I'd share my plans for fun. 

1. Dipped Ritz - I have heard of these, but never made them or even seen them.  They sound simple and delicious, and I want to make them with a white chocolate drizzle and sprinkles on top... mmm.
Completed Dec. 11... I ended up making them with a peanut butter-butterscotch topping, and here's what's left of the first batch.  I think my decorating skills will improve with practice.


2. Polystyrene Ornaments - Might make some for gifts if they turn out very nicely.  (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=206148.0)

3. Pajamas
Completed Dec. 12... I'm wearing my new jammie shorts now!  Oops, my wet hair dripped on them.  Please ignore the spots.

4. Cinnamon Apples - This is an old family recipe that my mom and Grandma make each year for the holidays, and I want to learn.

5. Aprons - I'm hosting a Christmas cookie party, and I'd like to make cute aprons for each of the chefs to wear while baking and decorating.

6. Knit a Scarf - I don't know how to knit, but hopefully a scarf will be pretty simple to figure out.
