I think we need to schedule something for after the holidays. I haven't met many people in general let alone crafty ones so I'd love to make some crafty friends.

I'd definitely be up for a Boston crafty meet-up. I'm having a hard time finding other people who don't look at me funny when i pull out knitting on the T or in a cafe.
3  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Halloween Costume on: October 05, 2009 05:50:59 AM
Interesting idea, Thanks for the advice, I'm not sure if my school does Halloween yet since I'll start in about a week and a half, but i don't want to be caught with just revealing things in the costume closet. Plus I want to dress up for me anyway!
4  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Halloween Costume on: October 04, 2009 06:59:28 PM
So I'm looking to either combine things I have or make something for a Halloween costume. My dilemma is that I want to look cute and/or sexy for going out with my friends and boyfriend that night but I'm also a teacher in a school for 3rd- high school so I can't go too revealing. I'm willing to put on some pants under a skirt if it ends up being short but I'm looking for help on this one. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!!

I think it's adorable, very nice job. If you can grab some Fray Check at your local fabric shop it should stop the unraveling. I too know the sadness of not owning a Serger, and Fray Check has saved me many times before! Have an amazing homecoming!

Ohh very exciting. I'm moving in 2 days and am looking for a job currently. But I'm ready to be crafting in my own place again! Can't wait to meet up with fellow crafters!!

Absolutely gorgeous. I'd also be up for the pattern/tut if you were willing. I have the same problem. And a similar body shape so i say your tummy is beautiful!
8  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Re: 12 beer glasses with glass etching of animal skeletons on: August 25, 2009 11:15:39 AM
Great Idea! I was thinking of doing wine glass etching for gifts for my stepmom's birthday (tomorrow eep) and spend last night trying to cut out stencils without my exacto. Then I came across this and the link to the tut! My glasses are drying at the moment. Thanks a bunch. I'll post my finished project with a big thanks to you!

I'm in for a crafty meet up! Moving in 9 days! I'm a little excited. And once i get settled in my apartment I'd be up for hosting a crafty meet up as well. I'm right off the green line at packard's corner.
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fingerless Gloves on: August 12, 2009 10:45:58 AM
I made these about 3 years ago and have just started posting on here. I've been lurking for years! I made these for my aunt who works in an office and she's always cold just like me. I made them fingerless so she'll be able to type while wearing them. They're not the best knit since they were still in the first few knitting projects I'd done.

Thats them by themselves, the buttons couldn't match because I never match so it was a bit of my personality in the gloves.

and thats my best friend wearing them. She's a lovely model.

C + C welcome!
