1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Small Skull Jacket Type Thing on: June 15, 2008 12:07:20 PM
So, this it the second thing i have ever sewn and i love it.  I've worn it countless times Tongue

It's the jacket/bolero from the New Look 6675 pattern.

I love the fabric, it's got skull on, which i also used as the lining, which was much simpler to do that i was led to believe!

So here are the photos:

The sleeves, they tie at the ends with a cute knot.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Polka Dotty Top on: June 06, 2008 09:57:30 AM
Hey,

This is the first item of clothing i have ever sewn, so be mildly gentle! Tongue

I used a pattern, but i can't find the packet to it right now (Edit: it's New Look 6737)

I love it, there's soo many mistakes, and i ended up with extra pieces somehow, and the neckline isn;t great, but i made it and i wear it Tongue  I'm tall so the waistline is a bit too high to be hugely flattering, but next time i make this top i will do something about that!

The sleeves are really poofy<3 but this doesn't show in the photos Sad

So here are my lame photos! I probably should have got my husband to take them, but hell i'm too impatient for that!

Trying to show how cool and poofy it is, but failing Tongue

And buttons and terrible neckline Tongue!

Whilst my sewing is far from perfect, the pictures don't do it any favours!  Also it's more postbox red and the spots are white
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / My Xmas Cards (Lots of Photos!!) on: December 23, 2007 10:45:31 AM
I posted this on the paper board, but i figured i could put it here too! Smiley

I know it's a litle late to be posting Christmas cards, but what the hell!
I'm new to card making, but i felt like sharing.
The pictures really don't do them justice, they are a lot more 3D and the glue spots don't show in RL, just on camera.
Also they are not as wonky as the pictures make them look Tongue

Thanks for looking and sry for the huge amount of pics! Tongue

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Zombie Pacman and Peas on: November 10, 2007 04:27:33 AM
I'm pretty new to Polymer Clay, but heck i'm enjoying here!
Just had to share these!  Rly happy with how they turned out, it's just a shame the pictures don't do them justice!

Peas

For size comparison

Zombie pacman, who is really shiny in RL

Again for size comparison

Not sure if these will show as images yet, since i've pretty much been a lurker!

Let me know what you think Cheesy
5  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Polymer Clay/ Fimo Leeds on: October 07, 2007 10:34:41 AM
Hi, I just moved to Leeds because i'm doing my PhD here.

I;ve become addicted to Polymer Clay/Fimo/Sculpy or whatever brand you like.

So i was wondering, are there any craft/art/misc. shops in Leeds that sell Polymer Clay?    Instead of me having to mail order, because the post in my flat isn't that great.   I live within walking distance of the City Centre, right near the uni.

Thanks in advance Cheesy
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Simplicity 4270 - Need pattern advice please on: January 10, 2007 10:20:57 AM
So i'm getting married on the 31st of March.  However i don't have a wedding dress.  I'm not sure what style i want so i will go and try on some gowns.  But looking at patterns i have become rather taken with this.

The view on the left.  Now i want a black wedding dress and i don't have a fortune to spend.  How hard would this dress be to make myself?  Considering i am not much of a seamstress (due to lack of time rather than lack of interest) and my skills are basic.  I could call in some help.  I would also like the make the back a bit longer to give a bit of a train.

So i really would adore some opinions if anyone has any experience of this pattern.

Uber thanks

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Santa/Father Christmas Coat on: November 07, 2006 09:02:29 AM
Hello, i need your help!

I said i would sew a Santa jacket for my Fiance's Dad as he does the Santa bit at quite a few places Smiley

So he needs a new jacket/coat but i cannot find any patterns.  I have done a search here but have come to no avail!  I'm a relative noob  at sewing so i don't have the skill/confidence to draft my own pattern.

So does anyone know of any patterns that would be good for a jolly santa sized man?  The only Xmas one i have found isn't a long enough jacket.  I would like it to go past thigh length and perhaps be a bit wrap over at the front.    It does not need to be an Xmas pattern, just a pattern for a suitable jacket Smiley

I need to have finished this project by the end of the month so i would love some quick responses!

Many thanks <3
