So apparently when I tried to post this last night something went wrong. >.< Hopefully this time it will work.
Introducing Lynn, the air pilot! You all must not listen to Seraphina_de_Sangre when she says her package wasn't great, because I am in love with this little lady, and she is so incredibly well made! She's wonderful! And she arrived with a whole wardrobe and a friend to boot! She said her flight wasn't too long, and she's settling in nicely! She's the first poppet for me that hasn't had to run off to live with somebody else, so I'm very thrilled to have her!
The lovely captain in her piloting duds, complete with fancy boots, corset, and goggles!
A closeup of her incredible jewelry! I absolutely love it!
Her flight goggles. These things still amaze me, they're so cool!
Her lovely red dress and top hat, for a night on the town.
This girl knows how to accessorize: sweet star studded headband and cute little black shoes.
Her bathing suit, just in time for the warming weather.
Purple sun suit. Somebody must have told her how hot the summers can get here!
Her copilot, the adorable penguin Sebastian!
And the whole lot! She also brought me some adorable yarn, cute fabric, tons of eyes and noses and dolly joints (which are missing from the picture as they are already in the sewing room!) eyelashes (which I've got to practice with!) and more iron on stars for decorating!
I love everything! Thank you again, Seraphina_de_Sangre, and don't feel like you shorted anybody, because I feel quite spoiled! This was probably my favorite swap in a looong time!
These are from a private swap between me and SciFunk some time ago, but some things came up and I didn't get pics until now. Anyway, they're too cool not to brag on! She made me an awesome set of resin cast pendants and goodies!
They're all fabulous, but the key pendants are just too awesome! I love love love them!
I received from HelenM! I wanted Alice in Wonderland as my fairy tail. She did a dark theme, and a Japanese theme for me, and I love everything!
Mad Hatters "Mad Tea Party" origami artwork! This is so cool!
Embroidered Alice T-shirt, with Alice from America McGees Alice game. She has MAD embroidery skillz! I love it!
And my favorite of all, a seven of spades knit handbag! This is to awesome for words, ya'll. I worked at Disney World a few years ago at the Magic Kingdom, and I got to play the 7 of Spades during Halloween and it was probably the most fun I had the whole time I was there. I've always liked the 7 of Spades since then, so she made this!
^^ I recieved from Inara on Saturday, but I've only just now had a chance to get pictures of all the awesomeness! First, a group shot:
Theme 1: Nana (anime) - totally awesome t-shirt from my favorite anime series! I love it!
Theme 2: seven of spades - etched dog tag
Theme 3: World of Warcraft (horde) - an ever useful quest log book (in group photo) and two pairs of fabulous earrings!
Theme 4: Wist surprise - a stamping kit - she made me two adorable stamps, one with a wing for my Craftster username, and one with a lemon for my etsy name! Plus inks and a cute box to hold everything!
Theme 5: The Cheshire Cat - the coolest thing ever, hand knit socks! I can't knit and those who can, amaze me. Plus these are extra fantastic, when you look at an angle, you can see a cat! The pics don't do them justice at all, but you can somewhat see the cat and his long tail running up the sock and curling. They're incredible! And they're super comfy!
I love everything! Thank you so much Inara! And I have to ask, where did you get the tee from for the Nana shirt? It's the softest thing ever, it's amazing!
So, it's been a long wait for me but it was beyond well worth it! KarenLouiseM agreed to be my stand in partner and she totally spoiled me! This jar is huge and she must have some mad packing skills because I can not believe all the stuff she fit in here. There's even a little caboose treasure box, a Spanish bingo set, to sets of Sanrio stickers, incredible little bear barrets, and tons more. And a bonus Hello Kitty cup! ^^ She definatly got my tastes down!
The cute bear jar! He's fabulous. Excuse the messy bedroom.
The ISpy shot
The little caboose! So cute, there's even a tiny train engine inside.
After seeing all the other entries, I wasn't sure I should even put mine up, but I figured it was worth it just to share. I wasn't sure which of my pics to enter, but I finally decided on this guy. I took the image on my porch just after it rained. I wanted to try and make it look like one of those "through-the-viewfinder" images, which are taken with a digital camera pointed through an old camera. I don't have the old camera, but I do have photoshop, lol. I upped the saturation and contrasts and added some filters and tried to age the image just a bit. It's much brighter than a TTV image, probably, but I really liked how it came out.
Here it is, please click for a link to a fullview:
Oh, and after you click it for a full view, you may have to click the image to get it to enlarge. You do with explorer. The little magnifying glass icon will pop up if you hover over it. The other two i couldn't choose between were dandylions, lol.
^^ Recieved from ccswch yesterday and couldn't wait to go ahead and give it to Mom. I had planned on waiting, but I usually show her all my swap packages, and she was wondering why I wouldn't let her see this one. Then I said "Because it's yours" and it was over. She grabbed it, lol. She loved everything!
group shot - teddy, tote bag, pouch, check book holder, tissue holder, and cross jewelry. this bear is soooo cuddly, I almost stole him. Mom ran off with him before I could get better pics, though, lol.
Amazing little pouch, check book holder, and tissue holder
Mom's favorite, and sooo perfect for her!
She totally loved all of it! Thanks so much, from both of us!
I know there's tons of poppets floating about, but I wanted to show off a bit, too. I made this little one for the FOC Secret Swap and she's been recieved by the loving arms of Kyrie04 so I thought she could have her own thread now.
This is my first poppet, but the only real problem I ran into was that my sewing machine doesn't want to sew the bottom line of stitches as tightly as the top. I can't get the tension right no matter what I do. Let's just say that it does not work to try and tightly stuff a doll when your seams are a bit on the loose side. Ah, well. I muddled through.
I originally planned to make a nature loving poppet with long red hair who loved hikes and the ocean, lol. I had her hair all together and on and was trying in vain to find my stash of shells to put in her hair. Never found the shells. And the more I though about her and Kyrie's profile, the more I wanted the color theme to match the ocean idea, so I cut off the red hair and gave her blue. Still couldn't find the shells. Then I remembered Kyrie liked purples and pinks, so I redid the hair yet again to have blues and purples both. I gave up on the shells. This poppet wanted something different. I could tell. So whilst shopping for some purse closures I ran across the wings and remembered Kyrie liked faeries. Thus poppet's true identity was revealed. I wove some flowers in her hair and beaded a stray strand and gave her her wings and a flowy, shiney outfit. And I finally found some tiny snail shells at the trusty Dollar Tree so I gave her a necklace to commemorate her long journy to faery-dom. And here she is:
Now I just have to make more poppets to go with those spare sets of hair I have laying around! I'm dieing to make myself one and my mom wants one now, too! They're so much fun to make, I'm sure many friends will soon be giving homes to them! Thank you Ghilie for this wonderful pattern!!
