51  Computer Wreath (complete w/ photos) in Winter Holidays by foldingj on: November 23, 2006 08:33:30 AM
I had seen similar posts on here for computer parts wreaths, but I just had to post mine. Unlike the others I have seen, I added some batteries, switch and LEDs incorporated into various computer parts. I made this as a gift for a friend who is in the process of getting their computer networking degree. I hope they like it. Attached is the link due to the fact that I have had nothing but trouble posting pics. Enjoy and feel free to comment.

52  Comics Garage Art in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by foldingj on: November 13, 2006 03:26:27 AM
Keep in mind, this is an ongoing project. I started about 5 years ago and continue when I have time or when the mood hits me. Since these pics were taken, I have added 3 times as many characters. Each HERO now has 2 villains behind him. I will post more as I complete a section. Bad thing is that I am running out of walls. Even worse, I have NO kids. This art is all for me. Guess this is just my attempt at not growing up. Good thing I am O.K. with that. Enjoy

53  Nightstand / Bedroom Lamp in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by foldingj on: November 13, 2006 03:17:24 AM
I recently put down a new floor in the bedroom. Unfortunately, I destroyed my bed frame in the process. Now my bed looks like one of those Japanese platform beds. Hence the idea of lantern nightstands. All the wood was just scrap wood in the shop. I spent around 20 bucks on the hardware and rice paper. I think they turned out pretty good. I made two, one for each side of the bed. I found similar products online for around 100 bucks a piece, so I definitely saved some cash. Enjoy
Sorry if the pics won't load. Here are the links.

54  Comics Pumpkin Carvings in Halloween Decor and Parties by foldingj on: November 11, 2006 05:20:26 AM
Great job on everyone's pumpkins. Here are some of mine. You got to love what you can do with fake pumpkins. All the effect, half the mess and you can use them year after year. Enjoy

55  Bottle of Light in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by foldingj on: November 11, 2006 05:08:58 AM
I've seen people turn bottles into bases for lamps, but rarely have I seen anyone turn a bottle into THE lamp. This is my first experiment with capturing light in a bottle. I did NO glass cutting or drilling. Everything is internal except for the on/off button on the cap. I used a battery powered glow stick (green), some green and clear glass rocks (to go with the green tea), minor wireing and a little know how. It gives a great glow effect in the dark. I think my next one will have to produce a brighter light, but I'm pretty sure I can do it. Enjoy

56  Paintball Mask Modifications in Completed Projects by foldingj on: November 10, 2006 05:38:21 AM
Yes, I know this would be better shown on a paintball site, but you have to admit they are pretty crafty. Sometimes I just scare myself. A few spare paintball masks, some halloween masks, paint, hot glue / epoxy / pop rivets and you get one hell of a cool paintball mask.

57  Comics Trash Cans in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by foldingj on: November 10, 2006 05:20:37 AM
A few hours to kill, local county trash cans, paint and an active imagination (or is it a comics fetish?). Put all that together and you get  some nice trash can art that is sure to get some attention.

58  Comics Bird Houses in Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Completed Projects by foldingj on: November 10, 2006 05:09:13 AM
It's amazing what you can do with a little paint, some scrap wood and a little spare time. The Superman bird house is complete with solar light. The symbol really glows nicely at night. Sure, the birds will hate it but come on, like I made it for them anyway.
