1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fill a Purse Swap/or Single Colour Purse swap. on: August 29, 2009 02:28:59 PM
Looking back there have been a number of swaps for creating and filling a purse. Or making a purse of a specific colour- Pink Bag Swap, Black Bag Swap etc.

I love designing and making bags, but have yet to create my perfect bag (though I work on it constantly)

I love the idea of making a purse to someone else's taste and would love to see what a swap partner would create for me.

Is anyone interested?

I wouldn't be able to organise until I had a second swap under my belt, but maybe one of you would like too.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Mermaid Mini Art Quilt on: August 29, 2009 06:17:02 AM
I just finished my first ever mini art quilt.

The mermaid pattern was  a free stained glass pattern found on the net. The seaweed modified from a child's colouring book. As you may guess, I can't draw to save my life.
Everything is from my stash. The fabrics are silks of various weights and a small piece of batik cotton. There is a combination of machine applique and hand embroidery. The edges were bound by hand with bias binding and is the neatest I have ever achieved.

I hope to attach this to the front of a bag I am making, in such a way as to be able to swap out the pictures. So i am currently experimenting with different methods of affixing it.

Any ideas would be welcome.
