One of my good friends and coworker is due 7 weeks after I am but her shower is going to be early to make sure I will be able to throw it for her. I came across this link for Martha Stewart as a wedding favor and just tweaked the idea a little bit to fit her baby shower.

Martha uses some cylindrical containers and I used votive candles. I used pastel tissue paper and ribbon and then placed each flower into a tiny clay pot and attached the tag to the bottom of the pot.

I'm about half way done and gave up for the night even though these are really easy to make. Luckily I still have a little less than 2 weeks to get everything done for her shower. Pregnancy fatigue sure doesn't let me accomplish much in a sitting. 

Ours is simple and can be adjusted to suit your taste. With Christmas coming up it's a great time to start looking for letters too. For the stand part we used a jewelry hanger for little girls from a store like Claire's and just pulled all the extra decorations and earring posts off. Then we hung ornament crystal letters in our monogram letters. We found ours at Bombay which is now going out of business but stuff like that will be much easier to find closer to Christmas. I know before the wedding Michael's had some pearl letters in the dollar bin that would have looked nice too.

Here are costumes I've madethe last couple years.

Sponge Bob - I made a frame out of PVC and then sewed the costume to fit the frame. No pattern just from a vision in my head. This costume was awesome! We had people stopping cars to jump out and take a picture with him and one lady asked us to come to her preschool... I've never been more proud of my work then that year 


An Aquabat - I made the belt, mask, hat and added the logo to the shirt. Yo Gabba Gabba






Bumble Bee - sorta boring but it was easy to make and didn't need a pattern.

Zombie and Witch - both were more reconstructs then sew from scratch




And just for fun this is our front yard this year

We had our wedding Friday but I couldn't find the cord to the camera for a while. Here's the hanging table numbers I made.

I took small pieces of particle board from Michaels and painted them a metallic teal. Then I used a stencil to spray paint black designs over that and added a silver painted wooden number to each side.





Also, I was going to make centerpieces out of tree branches and hang crystals on them. We ended up finding wire trees which we painted silver and made crystals hanging from chains to add to them. I don't have any good pictures of just the centerpieces so here's one of my cousin being a dork with a centerpiece in front of her



Here's another shot of the centerpiece and table number. Also notice under the centerpieces... my mom made the peacock feather chargers under the mirrors.


I don't have any good closeups of my bouquet yet. Here's a picture of it. I did the bouquets and mine had crystal stems in it.





My BM dresses were Alfred Angelo Tealness and we couldn't find any vests that matched. We found fabric that was almost the exact shade of teal and my mom made vests for the 2 best men from a Kwik-sew pattern.


Well, I think that's about it that I have pictures of for DIY stuff. I'll have more when I get the professional pictures back.

Completely not functional like you are looking for but asks for advice or personal messages and calls for a little creativity from the guests. I made my own pages for them to fill out and will just put them in a book when they are done.





I don't know how to make the pictures to where you can click on them and get the bigger picture. If one of the managers can do that for me, I'd really appreciate it.

Ok seriously... you rock! Your template was awesome and mine is almost finished now. The only thing I have to do is finish my ceremony to be able to change out the order of stuff in that category. It ended up looking nothing like yours but still rocks and I couldn't have made such an awesome program without yours! I sooooo appreciate that because I felt so lost on where to start and within 2 days it's 99% finished!!

Of course I deleted the names... and I haven't changed the processional song yet since I don't know what mine is but here's what I have so far... thanks to you!!  I really like how you have the picture but we don't have our pictures yet and it gave me room to explain the special things so I may just leave it as is.

I guess you can't really read the pictures but it gives you an idea...

I bought the background and sash from http://www.formal-invitations.com/teal-invitation.html I had the white and brown cardstock and photo border punch at home. I went through about 3-4 different colors of ribbon till I finally found one that matched the color of the background. I think they turned out pretty nice. I'm happy with them 

It's sort of hard to see but I made a peacock feather watermark to put behind the writing.


I ended up using the 2 different colors of brown paper because it was all stuff I had laying around the house. Both of them worked and I didn't have enough of either to complete the whole bunch. It worked.

You inspired me! Yours look wonderful! I used the same tut as you and here's my results so far:

I don't remember what I was searching for on ebay but I came across these fortune telling fish. I remember them from when I was a kid and it just tickled me to think about having them as wedding favors. I just bought 144 of them for $6.99 on ebay with free shipping. I think the idea was great for us because we are planning to get married on a harbor cruise... so the fish and boat kinda go hand in hand. I just can't decide now if I want to include them in the invitations or have them out on the tables at the wedding. What do you guys think?
