1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Smocked Baby Dress on: April 08, 2008 02:41:24 PM
The smocking design plate appears to be a modified version of Ellen McCarn's "Be Mine"...
for all you guys who are interested in smocking, check out www.ElegantStitches.com and go to the merchandise tab and look under design plates. I used to work at this store and love to smock...
Hope that helps!

3  UNITED STATES / North Carolina / Re: GOOD Fabric and ribbon sources? on: April 24, 2007 04:15:30 PM
Hey girls! I hope you are all doing well. I'm Leslie (aka Sissy) and I live outside of Raleigh. I work at a WONDERFUL fabric store in Cary, NC. We (the store I work at) is an heirloom fabric store (lots of cottons - like batiste and pique, french laces, smocking, needlework, etc)... but it has grown to much more. Now we offer lots of quilting supplies, classes (that are a broad range) and nice quality cotton fabrics. Check out our website at www.ElegantStitches.com ... and if you order, make a note that Leslie sent you there via Craftster.org!!! And if you are in the area, come by, visit the shop and say hi...

Anyway...  I may join you guys on this....
hmmm..... what could I do??
Decisions ... decisions!

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: custom wedding veil - first project post, please be nice! :) on: March 19, 2007 08:27:52 PM
I think the veil looks good!
I used to work in a bridal boutique and we'd crank out veils at the last minute... but that is one think I used to love to make! Smiley
I made my own and my moms (for her wedding #2)...
I'll have to find some pics and post them to the forum.
Anyway... enough of me blabbing...
You did a great job on the veil!  Grin
8  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Any other Mom's trying to do this instead of having a "real" job? on: March 19, 2007 08:22:54 PM
I am so glad you all are having this discussion. I have thought of starting my own cottage business in my "free time"... ha ha... like there is such a thing!
I do have a son who is getting ready to go to Kindergarten this year and I work a a fabric store that I love (most days).. and I'm trying to get myself organized and in a position where I can start teaching there... maybe a class or two. ANYWAY.... I have so many ideas that I have thought of starting my own little online business to provide a little more for our family....
I am so glad this thread is here and I'm looking forward to checking out the links you all recommended! Smiley
