I recently saw an episode of Martha Stewart and she had Etsy seller Black apple on her show demonstrating how to make her black apple dolls

I couldn't resist making my own immediately after watching the show, so here is what I whipped up in no time

I found this super easy tute for making maternity jeans, I wasnt sure where to cut the pants so this tute helped me out a lot

I used some old jeans I had that I haven't worn in years, and bravely cut them to create these
the top is from a stretchy tank top that I have a million of, I looked at the belly bands from the store and they are made of nylon and spandex, which is was my tank was made of

I stretched the top as much as I could on me and then sewed a new seam to make is smaller in circumference and then cut the top strap part off

in the pix I have it folded over by half, I haven't decided how big of a panel I want so I just folded it over for now, these jeans are fairly tight on me and have no stretch so I think that helps them stay up

when I do this again I think I will find some thicker material for the top, its super comfy but I'm not sure its that great to hold things up

it has PUL outer fabric and velour inner fabric and a welt pocket opening for stuffing
I used a combination of the darling diaper pattern and the welt pocket from KCK one

I used a dark tshirt transfer for the image, Im sure it wont hold up well with repeated hot washing but its cute for now!!

but it does call for roving, which I didnt use, I used malabrigo and size 8's I believe and stockinette instead of garter stitch, looks good for a newborn-infant size, and also be careful on the decreases, its confusing in the directions, just look at the picture

To the OP...  have you thought about making longies as well?  you can use those instead of PJ's at night, and also in the daytime instead of pants.....

I would love to make longies, maybe that will be my next adventure, I noticed my lys offering a class for those as well, maybe I'll try that out :0)
