51  Re: Reversible tote bag - with tutorial in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mahkev on: January 29, 2007 10:06:56 AM
I made another one.  I wanted a little more contrast so I switched the pockets to match the straps for each side.  The red is a crinkly fabric and the print is an asian print.

hey I have a skirt with that fabric, too funny, and I was just thinking of getting rid of a bunch of my clothes I dont wear anymore because I have way too many....hmm getting ideas of recycled fabric....

52  Simple Bag + Super cute discount fabric = LOVE in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mahkev on: January 26, 2007 12:42:21 PM
Hey I just finished this little bag today, I thought it was super cute and wanted to share.  I got all this embroidered linen fabric at Joanns for like $2/yard.  Ive been making some cool carry around bags some with straps, some drawstring to carry my knitting and such back and forth from work and wherever.  as I get better at sewing, i can get more detailed, maybe with a square bottom from all these rocking tutorials on here!!...anywhoo...here are some pics, hope you enjoy!!

p.s. sorry still too new to post pix, here are the links Smiley

p.s.s. just update the pix to show up here!!

53  Pink & Brown super comfy dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mahkev on: January 21, 2007 06:36:26 PM
Hello...well I am a super newbie...this is my first post..I like to look around a lot...I am a pretty good knitter who is venturing into sewing...I had that mentality that sewing would be so much easier bc you can just cut it..boy was I wrong.

My husband had to work today so I was bored and used up some scraps from a previous project to make this...Obviously it is a super easy to make dress...but I am still a beginner sewer.

I am so amazed at all the awesome stuff that is made on here..I was jealous and wanted to show off something of mine :0) This dress is super comfortable, It can be a cute beach cover up or get dressed up with belt.  I love anything I can wear flip flops with...and it covers those bras straps perfectly...although I know that back shots not very flattering :0)..Hope you enjoy looking..

I got an awesome dress pattern and fabric for xmas..so hopefully I can start working on that next.. until then here are a couple pictures...

whoops Im so new I cant post pictures... so here are the links
try this..
