1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / How do you bind THICK card? on: October 05, 2009 11:32:47 PM
Hey everyone,
Currently creating a pop-up book portfolio for my fashion work and have purchased about 10 pieces of black mounting card in A3. It is very thick and I need to bind it together somehow. Can anyone suggest a quick and easy way of binding the card together?

Such an amazing collage of colour/texture etc. Very beautiful book indeed!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: WRAP IT UP! how are you wrapping your pressies? on: December 15, 2008 06:09:43 PM
There are a few ways I do it.

My favorite and most good-looking way is to wrap the present in a plain paper/tissue paper and then over that wrap a layer of clear sheet or cellophane. I leave the last piece to stick down open and then throw in between the layers lots of cut up fabric scrap squares. THEN I seal the deal.

I did the paint stamp buttons on brown card too one year...
But the year after that I got brown paper and wrapped up the present using big hasty slashes of masking tape. Then I DREW the bow on myself and colored it in very hastily. It looked very artistic indeed.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / brazil lovin' drummer boy needs a new toy... on: October 22, 2008 01:31:40 AM
Well I am pondering in advance my christmas presents as it takes time to prepare and make.
One of which I am finding myself a little stuck on is my boyfriend.

He lives on one side of Australia and I moved to the other side this year and we both travel back and forth in uni breaks (him to see me and me to see my him/family).

Despite the fact that long distance can be hard, we are going very well and I would like to surprise him with something awesome for Christmas as I know he is already ordering me a Repanique (Brazilian drum) from Brazil. Which blows my mind!

So yes, I need something equally as awesome!

He is the musical director of Australia's biggest samba band, he studies pharmacy, he loves the beach and drinking, plays all kind of percussion and drums, is getting his wisdoms out soon (as am I) and likes many things brazil. Oh and he loves me!

What say you my crafty wizards?

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone!
Looks like Lola was the go - Zazzaloo  gave me a good giggle too.
Unfortunately neither was the case as her new owner decided on 'Slutty Puss'.
Oh well!  Wink

Spent the afternoon sitting in the sun on my porch finishing up the hand-sewing on this little sheila.
She is an alter-ego birthday present for my friend Rachael (who is a very quirky scene girl).
Sock monsters never get old! Can you think of a name for her? I was thinking 'heebie-jeebie'?

What say you?
