I don't know if you have one in your area, but Sally beauty supply sells those styrofoam heads for somewhere around $5. If not, I  have noticed A LOT of flea market vendors seem to have them for various products.

I like the pattern, by the way. Very cute.
12  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: polaroid land cameras on: December 31, 2007 07:07:50 AM
I am an avid polaroid and brownie collector. I don't know how, but they all seem to just fall into my lap. There are a lot of sites out their about modifying the cameras to fit certain films. I believe the cameras people like to make into clocks are polaroid Brownies- mass-manufactured for years and ever. Some of them are worth money, but a lot no longer work (I have at least 4 with non-working mechanisms), so you can find them for cheap. This is an EXCELLENT resource for brownies:

Happy crafting!

Did you come up with that bear design yourself? I LOVE IT! It's simple, but cute. If you did, I would love to use it on tea-towels for my future kitsch kitchen!

Hey everyone! I had a nice relaxing weekend, and I hope all of you did too. I feel SO behind because the past 3 weekends SOMETHING has been going on that takes me away from crafting. I had two other swaps to craft for, finished one, still working on the other (video game swap). One craft I am working on for the video game swap I need WHITE thread (of all things) for. I therefore went out and bought a HUGE cone of polyester for $2, and alas, IT DIDN'T FIT ON MY SEWING MACHINE! i couldn't use it, so I gave it to my boyfriend's mom. I will be going to JoAnn tomomrrow to get more though. (50% off!!!!) I actually found some AMAZING fleece there last time I went, so I plan on making my mom a very simple blocked fleece "quilt" (I use the term VERY loosely). Work has kept me from being more productive craftwise, and so has school! I sort of forgot to log in to my Anthropology class and was almost booted from it! I decided to take this weekend to just vedge and relax, so I still didn't get any crafting done. I am ok with it though, because I needed some time to just hang out.

Unlike everyone else I am not sick, my car is fine (just needs gas), and I have three separate sewing machines to choose from (my boyfriend's mom had like two very old extra machines and gave them to me, which was AWESOME). Though I haven't been crafting as much as I would like, I HAVE been stocking up on supplies, and writing down ideas for projects. I think my partner is going to be challenging to craft for, so I am kind of excited about that.

As an aside, yes, Drop Dead, I am OBSESSED with Vintage Pyrex. My mom will be giving me and the boyfriend her set (the primary color set), which is very sentimental, but she practically DESTROYED it by putting Mr. Red and Mr. Blue into the damned dishwasher Sad I recently found a redish pie plate, the sunflower double casserole, and my most favorite which I still have to pay for the "Decorator" from 1958 with the mod-ish fruits/veggies/fish/coffee grinder on it. I decided to use the smallest bowls out of the bowl sets as our cereal bowls because so many of them get sold outside of their sets. We found some neato refrigerator dishes at our local antique mall, and I am ALWAYS on the prowl for more. Have you checked out pyrexlove.com? Love it!

Otherwise, y'all keep having fun and I will get down to crafting! Smiley
