1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anyone else have an old Kenmore (sewing machine)? on: May 14, 2010 07:27:08 AM
So glad to find this thread! Over the past few years, I have been "promised" three sewing machines if I wanted them. I just was bitten with the sewing bug, so I'm going to pick up one this weekend...and it is a 1974 or 1975 Kenmore! (My mom has the one in the first picture on this thread...bought it new and still uses it!) I have been lurking on the sewing threads for ideas, so I'll probably be in here asking questions. I haven't sewn a stitch in 15 years, so I'm a re-newbie!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I have this yarn. What can I do with it? on: February 06, 2008 09:59:26 AM
My first instinct is a hat. It looks like it would make a cute, nubby hat.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Swimsuit yarn?? on: June 12, 2007 11:27:23 AM
There was an episode of Knitty Gritty where they made a swimsuit out of Cascade Fixation. I just think it would be HEAVY.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: searching for camo yarn on: June 12, 2007 11:23:36 AM
I've used the Bernat Camo, but the color that I used of it wasn't very...camo-ey. There's a couple of colors, though. I made some hats for the boys out of it, and I like that I can throw it in the washer when they get yucky.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ravelry! Extra invites... on: June 05, 2007 12:26:36 PM
Oh. My. Goodness.

I am going to be fired from my job when this thing goes live- I already spend more hours than I will ever admit out loud on craftster.

You have no idea. I've been on for about 3 weeks, and work totally cuts into my Ravelry time.

I haven't gotten any invites, but I'm "misscritta" over there for people that are already in!

Gorgeous tattoos! (top is super cute, too!)
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crusoe Sock Question! on: May 16, 2007 02:27:12 PM
I just made this sock in KnitPicks Dancing and I LOVE THOSE SOCKS! I get so many complements on them.

Eh....I think that I gave around $6 a ball for it. You'll need at least two balls. I don't remember the yardage. I bought three, and had a lot left over.
