2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / MY ADVENT CALENDAR =] im so proud(4 pics) on: November 29, 2007 08:07:28 PM
FINALLY!! its finished. i started this in october i think. and then my first calendar broke...twice. and then my next idea fell through. and finally i came up with this.  Grin It an old canvas that i had started to paint and given up on years ago covered in this way scratchy sweater i had gotten off freecycle. The tree is made of felt and the ornaments are polymer clay with the numbered circles mod podged on. Oh and they have velcro on the back. I have 25 wrapped presents for each day that have a corresponding number written on them.

On to the HORRIBLE pics:
(all i have is a camera phone)
i promise it looks better in life.

and here is the lil diary i made her. it was just a plain white book that i covered in this blue-ish fabric and put her name on with stickers. but im still proud =] this is day 15 i believe.

ill try and get pics of all her presents later.
I got a bit excited and forgot to take pics before they were wrapped. lol
good thing though. as soon as i showed her the advent calendar she started snooping around for the presents. =P

let me know what you think =]
im so proud
3  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Care to donate a christmas tree topper? HELP ASAP PLZ on: November 28, 2007 09:00:44 PM
i work at an after school daycare program for 84 fourth through sixth grade children. Many of their parents cannot even afford to buy a christmas tree. Thanks to a local tree farmer we have gotten them a tree donated this year for my classroom. The only thing we are missing is a christmas tree topper. Like a star or such. Im so busy with doing other projects for them and organizing a christmas party etc, that i have no time to even attempt a tree topper. if someone would be willing to make one or even just buy one to donate that would be AMAZING! the kids are making ornaments and they all keep bringing up how we need a star. lol. Also, if you would like to donate any ornaments or decorations we could use in our classroom it would be GREATLY appreciated. Please let me know if you would be willing to help =] we want to get everything together asap so the kids can help us decorate before they go on christmas break.

if you have any questions/etc. please message me or email me at bangbanglovely@aim.com

THANKSSS Grin

6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Advent calendar blues. HELP NEEDED!!! on: October 21, 2007 02:20:55 AM
I was following burstandblooms advent tut with the styrofoam base.
(My original post here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=202589.0)
However, as i was about to cut out the third to last circle, the entire thing snapped in half. and basically shattered. peicing it back together is pretty much impossible (i have been trying for the last 2 hours) so now i need a new way to make an advent calendar. I dont want a typical felt one. i would prefer something non-sewing due to not having a sewing machine and i already have a ton of stuff to hand sew.

i was thinking wood, but im no good with a hammer.

im not sure if cardboard would work.

and thats as far as i have gotten.

IM IN DESPERATE NEED OF IDEAS AS TO WHAT TO MAKE THE CALENDAR ITSELF OUT OF!!! ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATTTT!

thanks.
and sorry for the semi-long post.
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Need Help With Advent Calender on: October 17, 2007 11:48:27 PM
So today i casually brought up to my 7 yr old sister whether she thought it'd be better to get a little present every day in december or just one present on christmas. she obviously said a little present every day. SOOOO... i have decided to craft her an advent calender.
however im not so sure about what to fill it with. The calender is going to be for ALL 31 days of december not just up until christmas day. i know im going to make her some clay ornaments. decorate some gloves for her. stencil her a hannah montannah shirt. but other than that im not really sure on things to craft.

ANY IDEAS?

if it helps....
shes 7 going on 17.
