1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Wrap tops, cast covers and snuggle blankets.. Pic heavy on: December 23, 2008 10:18:17 AM
Here are a few things I have been working on for Christmas. I don't want to overload the board so I will post a few pics here and you can view more on my blog...
The wrap top and little pants were patterns from You Can Make This
Wrap shirt with matching cuff pants for niece..

Another wrap shirt with gauchos for a niece...

Here is my take on the "snuggie" blanket... My son loves it!!

And the last one I will post is my sons cast cover... He broke his arm last week and I didn't want the cast getting extremely dirty so I made it a cover and he loves the John Deere fabric.

There are more things I have finished over the last few weeks posted on my blog...

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / HELP QUICK! Hoop skirt/slip??? on: November 16, 2007 06:33:27 AM
Ok, so next Tuesday is storybook character day at my kids school. I am stuck making one daughter Jessie from Toy Story and my other girl wants to be Princess Aurora. I have a pink dress for her to wear that she wore to a banquet a few months ago and need to make a hoop skirt/slip thing to go under it so it stays poofy. In my area, they are not readily available at stores and I really dont want to buy one just to wear one time. Can anyone enlighten me on how to make one? I remember something about taking hula hoops and if you did something to them they were able to bend and hold shape but cant find that anywhere. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Child Costume: Super Mario is the Bomb! on: November 01, 2007 01:09:50 PM
Ok so I procrastinated and didnt finish it till October 30th. But it turned out just how I wanted it. Sew cute. The pattern was made and I had to cut it a few different times to get it to fit right then had to lengthen the straps since it was cutting into him. The hat was made from a hat I found at a thrift store and cut up for a pattern. The "M" on top of the hat is felt. Cutest 18 month old walking through town! (they told me, im not just full of my son lol lol) Enjoy!

His hat looks a little wop sided but its because he wouldnt keep it on right.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My very own 18 month old Super Mario! Pic heavy on: November 01, 2007 05:41:59 AM
Ok so after procrastinating forever, it was finally finished the day before Halloween. I had to work with the overall pattern since it didnt do right. (had to rip seams 3 times and re sew it  Angry) After that, the straps were not long enough and the whole thing was finished so I had to add a piece to the straps. Anyway, the hat was made from a hat I found at a thrift store and cut up for the pattern. It looks a little wonky on his head since he would not leave it still for me to take a pic so it would look right. He did keep the gloves on the whole night! Amazing!! Ok, enough babble on to the pics...Costume on the floor..

He wouldnt stand up for me to take a pic, he wanted to run towards me so hes sitting on the counter.

Daddy holding him so we could try to get a smile.
Well, he was the cutest one there. Everyone was saying "hey theres Mario!" Little boys couldnt get over it.
Hope you enjoy. Oh yeah, he does have on little brown boots, just like Mario. Tried to get him to say "Itsa me, Mario" but he wouldnt do it.  Cheesy

C/C welcome.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / I need a pattern for basic overalls on: October 10, 2007 08:37:19 AM
I have been scouring the boards as well as many searches on the web and have found nothing. I need a basic pattern for overalls that will come over the shoulders and fasten with a button. No pockets or any of that jazz on it. I am making my sons Halloween costume (Mario) and need to make the overalls. I am planning on making them a little bigger than my son, so I can put an extra layer behind the front so i can put some cotton or something in there to make him rounder like Mario. Any help would be sooooo appreciated. Thanks!! Grin
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Looking for time out doll pattern on: September 17, 2007 10:47:49 AM

8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / I made a diaper wreath! Oh how sweet it is... (img heavy) NOW with Girl wreath on: September 07, 2007 09:50:40 PM
Ok so I finally made the diaper wreath with Hellga's tute here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=180906.0! Thanks Hellga. I didn't line it with tulle first though and now I think maybe I should have. It is the green foam but it is smooth so I didn't do it. Anyway, it has a few toys on it and three different ribbons. I added a bow at the top and a cute little stuffed animal on the bottom holding a sign. I created the hangar on the top so when the baby is born, this can be hung on the door instead of the boring old huge bow that comes from gift shops. Oh well, take a look and tell me what you think. I plan on making another one for a girl in a week or so but would like feedback on this one first. Thanks y'all!
Laying flat on floor

The little monkey I added. This is not the card I am keeping, I have to go the florist and get the "Its a boy" card to go in it.

Close up of the bow on top, has ribbon that says its a boy.

Here is the ribbon I used to tie all my goodies onto it with, says its a boy.

Finally, the diaper wreath hanging up. (its hung on my gumball machine just to show it hung up, didn't have a nail handy lol)

So, there you have it. I had so much fun making this. Very inexpensive and not time consuming at all. As always, comments or criticism welcomed.  Grin

Now for the little girl wreath.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Nintendo bag/tote stencil question on: September 05, 2007 06:34:51 AM
I am making a tote for when I go to the flea market to buy games. I am wanting to stencil Mario on the outside as well as a few other things (Yoshi, one up man, etc) and I am lost. I have never done this before and I know nothing about stenciling. This is the only way I know to get them on the bag since I don't have an embroidery machine. Any ideas? or help on how to get them on there would be soooo much appreciated! Thanks y'all!
