i won't be able to make it this weekend, but i'll keep my eye on flickr for the next meetup. i also agree with the idea of two meetings, one for a workshop-y type activity, and one for working on our own projects.
I got my CD last night, from Starsix. I've only listened to about half so far, on my way to work this morning, and so far I'm really enjoying it. Lots of it is songs by people I know, but whose music I don't own. Plus, we both put Elton John on our lists!
Here's the list:
1. Brown-Eyed Girl - Van Morrison 2. Lose Your Way - Sophie B. Hawkins 3. Night Moves - Bob Seger 4. Peaceful World - John Mellencamp & India.Aire 5. Walk With Me - Seven and the Sun 6. Jet Airliner - Steve Miller Band 7. Life Got In the Way - Sister Hazel 8. Innocent - Our Lady Peace 9. Posters - Jack Johnson 10. Tiny Dancer - Elton John 11. Watermark - Enya 12. Piano Man - Billy Joel 13. How Sweet It Is - Michael Buble 14. Don't Panic - Coldplay 15. Gone Going - Black-Eyed Peas & Jack Johnson 16. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard 17. Confessions - Trews 18. Tearin' It Up - Garth Brooks 19. Take It Easy - The Eagles 20. Down On the Farm - Tim McGraw 21. Time to Switch to Whisky - Corb Lund Band
Um, so mine is 2 CDs equalling 39 songs. Oops! I hope this doesn't totally count as cheating. I really can't live without those 39 songs! I should be shipping tomorrow, so keep your eyes on your mailbox, Starsix - I'll probably ship by Xpresspost, because it's not too pricey within the same province.
I can't make it this Sunday, but I'd be down for sure. I haven't picked up my knitting in months, and it would be good to get motivated again (with all crafts, really). It would be interesting to see, too, if any of us know each other from "real" life
Yeah, Urban Source on Main Street is very cool. It's on Main at 15th, just south of Heritage Hall. It has a lot of recycled materials, but also some new. I agree that it would be best for collage type work, but they have some new paper stuff, too.
