thanks everyone!

ive been trying to shoot them outside, but this week almost everyday has started out nice but then cloudy once i get home, i have a few pictures that i snapped of them hanging in my window.
I have been doing it w the flash off on my tripod. I hung a sheet and hung a few work lights around (which prolly isnt the best bc there a bit yellowy)
Ill definatally have to check what closeup setting are available thats a good idea
Thanks!

First of a series of what I can feel is going to be a very long craft addition for me. All of them are wire and beach glass some of them required drilling through the glass.

Also, I want to be able to photograph the translucency of the glass with the light showing through, but cant seem to manage to show it,it comes out totally back lit. Any hints? I'm new to photography, just got a DSLR camera, so Im learning...

The first piece I made, freestanding mermaid statue

Some sail boat pendents or ornaments

Little Mermaids 1 and 2

A Big Sail Boat

SAIL sun catcher

A sun catcher "Love is sandy toes and salty kisses"
any one have any idea where thats from? I know I read it somewhere...

They are beautiful! Icing sugar and powdered sugar are the same thing, by the way.

Thanks! Did not know that.

cute, do you have a recipe for the marshmallow fondant?

Here is a recipe, its similar to the original i found, but i didnt make that much so i just kinda eyeballed it.
http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm

I put about 15 big marshmellows in a bowl with a splash (like a table spoon)
mircowave for like 30 seconds, turn marshmellows over by stirring a bit, and mircowave again.
cover hands and surface with crisco (and the bowl once you take out the marshmellows if you plan putting them back)
it will be hot, but you should be able to kneed in sugar untill dough like, just give your hands a break now and then.
(one think i learned, make sure you sift the sugar. i thought the dough would pull apart any lumps but i was wrong)
once its done make a hole in it and kneed in food dye, if done well surprisingly you dont really get it on your hands
If it starts to get hard, apparently you can just nuke it again, but i didnt try.

(the cupcakes are just white cake mix)

This was my first time working with marshmellow fondant but I'l definitely do it again. (edit: the recipe is a few comments down)
The cupcakes are also rainbow layered  Cheesy There are bunnies, chicks, eggs, flowers, ladybugs and a bee. My littles cousins loved them!
I used powered sugar instead of icing sugar, any one know if that makes a difference?

their lil tails  Smiley

I also used some of the extras bunny ears to make me and my bf (he looks a lil scary Undecided) and a pickachu  Grin

28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Matchbox Swap round 5 Gallery on: May 02, 2011 07:16:35 PM

heres the lovely music match box susanab sent me :]
there was: a gold button with a star fish, a mouse button a bunch of rainbow beads, a duck bead, a silver treble clef, a little metal bird, a  teeny tiny bellbell, a bird button, 2 bigger rainbow beads, and some shell beads.
I have noooo idea how she got it all to close with all that in there, i couldnt get the large duck bead back in for anything, so i turned him into a zipper pull on my ukulele case almost immediately :}
thanks so much, love itt <333
