Everyone's goody bags look amazing. I received mine from zero cool at the start of the week. She really did spoil me!

She sent me some lovely patterns, including a bracelet kit. I can't wait to have a go at knitting with wire and my sister has been dropping hints since she saw it. I am listening to the album by Dopamine right now and I love the butterfly stitch markers.

She also sent me some lovely yarn. I'm itching to try them all out. I love the colour of that blue and I also love the white.

Knowing my inabilities to crochet she made me this beautiful scarf and dish clothe. I have a new purple top that this will go perfect with.

Thank you so much zero cool. I loved it all  Grin
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: First attempt at lace knitting on: June 29, 2007 11:52:17 PM
Thanks for all your comments. My mother has a nasty habit of walking in on my projects that I am making for her. This one was no different. I was in the process of putting it away and had no time to hide it. It got snatched out my hands with a "Oh, what's that?" So she got her pressie 6 months early. So infuriating but I should be used to it by now.

I'm doing my first lacey project too and i'm totally in the unraveling stage! It seems like every second or third row I mess up.
Maybe I'm learning a lot about something or other...

That's what I was like at first too. Don't give up!

Very lovely!  The white really works with the stitch pattern.  Will you be blocking it?

Sorry I am a relative newbie to knitting, what does blocking mean?
4  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Knit crochet goodie bag swap - send by 7/16 on: June 28, 2007 11:07:21 PM
I have some goodies put together and I am working on a craft to send too. This is probably the most complex thing I have ever knitted so I am hoping it will turn out well. At least it is complex for me, experienced knitters will probably find it simple. There are also a few more things I want to get but I am waiting until next week when I get the chance to go to a huge craft store. Loving this swap.

I sent zero cool the embroidery stitch bible and "The Midwitch Cuckoo's" by John Wyndham. Here are the bookmarks I sent along with them;

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / First attempt at lace knitting on: June 28, 2007 10:48:25 PM
This is my first attempt at lace knitting. I got the pattern from my knitting stitch bible (love that book). It's called lace wheels. Once I got used to it I found it easy. In the beginning though I lost my place a number of times and there was a lot of unravelling. I am putting away the scarf as part of my mum's Christmas.

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: A Finished Round Robin on: June 22, 2007 01:39:04 AM
what a fantastic idea for a round robin. I love mirabilia too. The whole piece looks gorgeous but that border really sets it off. Very fitting for the fairies.
