I tried making a bracelet by boiling too...totally didn't work. I never did think of an alternative idea like you did. Good going!

I think if you are thinking about doing this don't be intimidated by the tiny needles and thin yarn. It really wasn't horribly difficult. It was much more tedious and time-consuming than actually hard.

Thanks for the comments. I'm really happy with it. Everyone else: good luck! Keep knitting - you will love the results!

Hello everyone...

I finished my Thermal over a month ago but due to moving back home for the summer and a trip to England I only blocked it about a week ago. Then there was another delay for photos...

Anyway, here is my finished (minus the buttons) Thermal on my flickr page. I couldn't figure out how to post photos:

I've finished mine!!! I've got to go button shopping and it needs blocking desperately. Mine is a bit tight (as I knit the 32" when I'm at 34") but I'm confident it will be just right when I block it because it's so stretchy.  The bad news is I will have to wait til I go home for the summer to block it because that is where my blocking equipment is...  Bummer!

These are awesome. I'm especially in love with the argyle one....or anything argyle!

Wow -- that looks really good!!  I also think I will have some extra yarn...but only 1 skein.

I've attached my first sleeve and it's a little shorter than expected so I guess with blocking it will be a tad longer.

I started sleeve 2 but put it on hold to do the neckline because I'm tired of knitting on dpns!

Did you have trouble with the scarf trying to curl? I designed one very similar to this with a similar cable but I used a seed stitch border and it curls too much to wear. I've blocked it but it just sucks.

I was going to buy yarn for this pattern this weekend, but at the yarn shop we got confused about the recommended yarn and its gauge... What yarn did you use? We thought using sport weight on size 2 needles might be too dense.
