I have a singer advanced and while I was sewing today the machine locked up and the bobbin and the surrounding piece popped up and got stuck so I took the plate off got out the stuck thread, changed the needle and the bobbin but it did it again, any ideas of why its doing this or how to fix it, the pictures shows what it looks like after I take the plate off but before I fix it.

Any help is greatly apprectiated
2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / I'm packing your angry eyes just in case on: April 05, 2011 07:47:16 PM
I made Mr. & Mrs. Potato head for the hoopla round 4 swap. This was my first time doing any kind of fill in stitches. I'm not 100% happy with them but they were a good learning experiene. The background is colored with colored pencils, they worked great.

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Mini Captain America on: November 03, 2010 06:19:40 AM
My 4 y/o decided he wanted to be Captain America this year, he loves the comics, but not regular Captain America, the one from the new comics. Roll Eyes So I made him what he wanted. I bought a plain blue sweatshirt and decorated it with fleece. He watched every step while me and my mom make it to make sure we were doing it right. The belt was yellow and from a thrift store, the shield was cardboard that we painted on both sides and put straps on it. The pants are cargo pant DH bought him.

Here the reference picture I used

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Whats a girl to do when all her pants rip? on: August 03, 2010 06:24:39 PM
Make skirts and dresses of course. My favorite jeans ripped and my only other pair are on their way and since I didn't want to do laundry today I made some clothes.
The first thing I made is a skirt made out of some really cheap b&w polka dot fabric with pink buttons and a magenta zipper. The eyelet lace at the bottom is from my great grandmas stash that I inherated last year when she passed so its like she with me all the time when I make item out of her stuff.

I also made a b&w plaid dress, i got the fabric a joanns a long time ago, I bought 2 yards of it just because it was pretty. I used butterick b4443 veiw A, I love the pattern but it runs very big I made a size 14 which should have been almost too small but it came out huge so I took out the side back panels, panel 3 out of it. I think next time I'll make a size 10 or even an 8. also took in the front under the bust area a little bit to make it fit perfect I screwed up the zipper a little so its wonky I have to fix that and I might add straps to just wear a tank under it like in the pictures.

My wonderful husband took the pictures for me, it took almost 20 minutes to get them because he was being crazy and making me laugh, hes the best.
